Nick Nolte showed off his scruffy side when going out to an upscale dinner with some of his top Hollywood male friends.
The 84-year-old actor had long gray hair that was combed back and a fuzzy beard.
The 48 HRS actor was dressed casually in a light mint green shirt with one pocket that was not buttoned all the way up with no jacket.
The Cape Fear star added black slacks and sneakers that appeared comfortable.
The Hollywood icon looked healthy with a fresh Malibu tan.
He was joined by former costars Josh Brolin, 57, and Sean Penn, 64, at high-end Japanese restaurant Nobu which is on the coast of Malibu and co-owned by Chef Nobuyuki ‘Nobu’ Matsuhisa, actor Robert De Niro, and businessman Meir Teper.

Sean also sported gray hair as he wore an olive green shirt over a dark blue T-shirt with shiny charcoal gray cargo slacks. White sneakers made him look ready for a power walk.
Brolin also was a silver fox with a deep summer tan as he sported a pale beige T-shirt and worn-in blue denim jeans, adding dark brown leather lace-up boots.
Nick, Sean and Josh all live in the Malibu area.
Nick and Sean worked on the 1997 Oliver Stone-directed movie U Turn with Jennifer Lopez so they have known each other around 30 years.
A year later they co-starred in the 1998 movie The Thin Red Line with Jim Caviezel.
They also appeared in the 2013 film Gangster Squad with Brolin. Nick and Josh were also seen in scenes together in 1997’s Nightwatch.
Nick has been in Los Angeles working on the set of his latest project, the Amazon Studios movie Crime 101.
The Hollywood veteran was seen seated at a food court clad in a dark gray coat and pants with a button-up charcoal top. The Oscar-nominated actor looked dapper with his hair slicked back.
The Omaha, Nebraska-born star was joined on set by his castmate Chris Hemsworth in Southern California, as they are part of an ensemble cast for the Bart Layton crime drama.

Nolte, who has appeared in comedies such as Tropic Thunder, Down and Out in Beverly Hills and 48 Hrs., was subsequently seen with a production assistant on the set.
Corey Hawkins, Tate Donovan, Babak Tafti, Payman Maadi, Deborah Hedwall, Devon Bostick, Matthew Del Negro, Drew Powell and Paul Adelstein are also in the movie, Variety reported last month.
The script, which was penned in part by Layton, is based on a novella from Don Winslow, the outlet reported.
According to a logline, the plot is based on ‘a series of high level jewelry thefts up and down the Pacific Coast Highway that have gone unsolved for years.’

The perpetrator of the crimes acts under a protocol called Crime 101, the logline stated, which leaves authorities confused, thinking it is the work of South American cartels.
‘Detective Lou Lubesnick’s gut says it’s the work of just one man,’ the logline stated. ‘Now the lone-wolf jewel thief is looking for that fabled final last score and Lou breaks all the rules of Crime 101.’
Other actors in the motion picture, including Berry and Keoghan have been seen on location for the movie in recent weeks on location for the film in Southern California.
Nolte spoke to Business Insider in November of 2022 about what keeps him compelled to remain playing new roles after decades of success in show business.
‘I’ve always had something artistic outside of myself that I can turn to, so I’m still interested in the stories,’ Nolte said. ‘I don’t really know what they are, as there are fewer and fewer of them these days.
‘And I don’t find the 80s particularly fun because you’re falling apart in a way. But I’ve always said that I’ll keep on going until I just can’t go anymore.’
