The actress has now revealed that she has sought help after noticing her hair was thinning, as her body started to change.

She has now started having treatment to prevent this from happening further and to kick start regrowth.

Opening up, the soap star said: “I was in perimenopause and I didn’t even know that was. I had never even heard of it before.

“When it comes to things like with the hair, you know, I’ve just noticed the thinning a bit.

“Even though I’ve got short hair, it just is all falling into place.
that before I got it caught, my hair was, I was losing a lot of it in the shower. So I was shredding quite a lot.”

Revealing she had sought help from the British Hair Clinic, Steph explained the treatment she was having.

The actress said she was undergoing PRP hair treatment .

This is a non-surgical procedure that uses a patient’s own blood to stimulate hair growth and improve hair quality.

AXED FROM HOLLYOAKS

Steph joined Hollyoaks as Cindy Cunningham in 1996.

The actress was on the show for 28 years and was on the very first series of the soap as an original character.

She was part of a mass cast cull last year, which left her devastated.

Steph revealed she broke down and begged bosses to change their minds when she received the news.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun at the time, she said: “I was very distraught, I didn’t take it well – I was probably the most dramatic person they told.

“I just kept telling them ‘I’m an original character’.

“I was clutching at anything – telling them ‘but I was the first person to give birth on the show!’

“I could see the distress I was causing them because they were upset that I was so upset.”

GETTING BACK TO WORK

Earlier this month, Steph revealed she has wasted no time in getting back to work and has re-trained as a life coach.

But at the same time she confessed her new work will never “come close to her passion of being an actor”.

Speaking on social media, she said: “Someone asked me a question yesterday and it was ‘what work do you do?’ And I thought, good point.

“What work do I do? And the first thing that came to my head was I’m an actor. That’s all I’ve known for the last 30 years.

“It’s really hard out there, it’s not easy

“And that’s one of the reasons why I stayed in Hollyoaks for so long, because it was security and I was doing what I loved every single day. And I didn’t even question it.”

Addressing her new choice of career, Steph continued: “I do have days where I’m sad and I miss it and I’ve realised that is what I do…

“I am 100% focused on [it], I’m passionate about [it], but it won’t ever come close to my passion of being an actor.”
