A HERO Brit soldier shot by US forces in a friendly fire incident says he feels “deeply let down” by Donald Trump’s comments.
Chris Finney was awarded a George Cross for gallantry after risking his life to save comrades during the deadly blunder in Iraq in 2003.
And he says the US President has “belittled the sacrifice” of dead or wounded comrades.
Chris’s troop from the Household Cavalry was so far ahead of the front lines that a pair of American A10 Warthog aircraft mistook them for Iraqi forces.
The US planes repeatedly strafed their vehicles with devastating Gatling-type guns — firing 3,900 rounds a minute.
Chris, 41, was hit in the leg and lower back and his comrade Matty Hull was killed.

To this day, Chris still has fragments of shrapnel from that “blue on blue” embedded in his body.
He told The Sun: “I carry a piece of America with me everywhere I go.
“It is a reminder of that awful day. It is proof that what Donald Trump said is historically, factually, totally untrue.
“I am not angry but I feel deeply let down by his comments.
“I am sad that someone would disparage the memory of everyone who fought and died.
“Why would he attack Nato when the only time Article 5 was triggered was after 9/11 by America? Allies answered America’s call.
“These days I am not convinced that me or my friends were there for America or Nato.
“We were there for the comrades left and right of us. I have lost count of those friends, comrades who were killed and injured in Iraq and Afghanistan.
“Trump has belittled their sacrifice. He has belittled the sacrifice of friends who came back without limbs, or with physical and emotional scars.
“If I could sit down with him I would like to show him the photos of the friends who didn’t come home.”
