Harry Potter TV show shares first look at ALL the Weasley siblings – with Fred, George, Percy and Ginny stars beaming in selfie with Ron actor

The highly anticipated Harry Potter TV show has shared a first look at all the Weasley siblings.

In May this year, the three lead child stars were finally announced after months of speculation – with Dominic playing protagonist Harry, Arabella Stanton as Hermoine Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.

The young trio were selected from more than 30,000 actors who auditioned in a casting call last year.

And now, the casting for Ron’s siblings: Fred, George, Percy and Ginny has been revealed.

Tristan Harland will star as Fred, Gabriel Harland as George, Ruari Spooner as Percy, and Gracie Cochrane as Ginny.

On Tuesday, HBO released a photo of all the Weasley kids smiling for a fun selfie.

James and Oliver Phelps played Fred and George Weasley, respectively.

Rupert Grint portrayed Ron Weasley, and Bonnie Wright played Ginny Weasley.

Additionally, Chris Rankin played Percy Weasley.

Filming for the HBO programme, which was first announced back in April 2023, is well and truly underway.

On Monday, Harry Potter’s Hagrid actor Nick Frost towered over lead star Dominic McLaughlin as filming for the TV series took over London and brought traffic to a standstill.

Nick and Dominic were pictured walking down Borough High Street near London Bridge.

Their costumes both match their characters’ descriptions in the movies and books.

Taking on Daniel Radcliffe’s role of Harry, Scottish actor Dominic, 11, looked serious as he looked into the distance while rocking a blue, green and yellow rain jacket.

He completed the look with some wide-leg jeans, a rucksack and Harry’s iconic glasses.

Meanwhile, Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead legend Nick, 53, donned long curly hair and a matching beard.

The actor looked warm in a khaki jacket, black trousers and brown boots.

In one snap of the pair together, some may notice that Nick – who is 5ft 7 inches, towers over Dominic – and if you look closely, he has a mask on his face which has two black dots above his mouth.

While it’s initially unclear in the photos as to where Harry and Hagrid are going, given the location, it looks like the duo are likely on their way to Diagon Alley.

After the photos emerged, fans have taken to Reddit to share their thoughts.

They said: ‘The OUTFIT is just so spot on, the too big jeans, baggy shirt, the dirty coat that I swear half the boys at my school had and probably came from C&A. The attention to detail is just so good’,

‘IKR. they also roughed-up Hagrid. unlike the first official photo where his beard looks like a perfectly conditioned and curled hair’.

‘I love that they’re showing Harry in baggy clothes. It really fits with how it was always described in the books’.

‘He’s drowning in the clothes, it’s perfect’,

‘One of the things I really like here as a book comparison is Nick Frosts face being naturally sterner while resting. We know he can do the big happy smiles but Hagrid is meant to look a bit scary at first. Although I loved Coltrane – he always looked warm whatever expression he had’,

‘I’ll forever love Robbie Coltrane’s Hagrid but I’m also really excited to see Nick Frost’s Hagrid on screen’,

‘Dominic gets more and more Harry with every leak/picture’,

‘Perfect Harry. perfect Hagrid. how his tiny steps struggling to keep up with Hagrid’s big strides. TT.’

It comes after original Harry Potter director Chris Columbus revealed a character he wants to appear in the HBO series after they were cut from the films. He made it obvious which character he hoped the show would tackle, and that character is Peeves.

Speaking about the films at a red carpet event for his new mystery film Thursday Night Murder Club, he told Screen Rant: ‘I think the thing I think about mostly is Peeves.

‘The character of Peeves, we shot sequences, we did not have time to render Peeves in a CGI way. So I’m anxious to see what they do with Peeves.’

Peeves had a minor presence in the first books with pranks and insults, but took a more notable role when he and the other Hogwarts ghosts resisted the reign of Dolores Umbridge and later in the grand Battle of Hogwarts.

However, the character played by comedian Rik Mayall was cut from the films as Warner Bros felt the movie was too long.

As filming for the reboot is underway, one of the major questions is how it can top the hit movies.

As each book will not be crammed into a two-hour film, the season will allow the story to unfold in full.

The new series aims to ‘lead a new generation of fandom’ and hopes to recapture the beloved details Harry Potter fans have enjoyed for 25 years.

It will be executive produced by Harry Potter author JK Rowling, Ruth Kenley-Letts, Neil Blair and David Heyman.
