BILLY HORSCHEL was involved in a furious row with a fan forcing security to boot them out.
The golf star was on the receiving end of a comment from a fan after he overhit a shot during the Cognizant Classic.
The tournament was taking place at the PGA National Champion Course and Horschel went over the green on the 15th hole.
The ball bounced into the water, leading to the American being heckled by a fan from the stands.
It is not clear what was said to the 39-year-old but it is reported to have referenced his recent comments on the PGA National.
Earlier this week, the world no81 had spoken out on the overseeding of the course despite the PGA Tour‘s opposition.
He insisted that the final decision should have been made by the course itself.
Horschel was not amused as he turned to try and find out who the heckler was.
He could be heard saying: “Who said that?
“I mean, I guess you guys gotta make you feel good about yourself with a comment like that, don’t you?”

The fan appeared to hit back at the golfer by accusing of him of slamming the course despite the claim being wrong.
Horschel replied: “Complaints about your course? I said it’s been pretty good, my man.
“Maybe you should read the entire comment.”
Horschel then switched his mind back to the golf in play but could only muster a triple bogey six on the hole.
The incident led to the fan being kicked out of the event by security which was later confirmed by Horschel.
He said: “The guy said a couple more things and said I was bad-mouthing the golf course, and that couldn’t be further from the truth.
“I’ve praised this golf course for many, many years. If I didn’t like this golf course, I wouldn’t come here and play every year.
“He had a few words to say. He wanted to share what his thoughts were, and I just said to him: ‘Read the entire quotes from the last couple years’.”
Horschel also took a moment to insist that he has enjoyed playing at the Champion Course.
He added: “I’ve enjoyed this golf course.
“When it’s benign, it’s gettable. When it’s the way it is the last two days with the wind blowing, it’s a challenge.
“I wanted to make sure I informed him on that. I said: ‘Maybe you should be more informed of the situation’, and that was it.
“I walked back to the drop area, I hit a shot and walked off with a 6. There was no more, nothing said.”
Horschel did insist that he did not want the fan to be removed after being told they were kicked out.
He said: “The officers came up to me after I walked off 16 and said: ‘We kicked him out’, and I said: ‘I didn’t ask for him to be kicked out’.
“They said: ‘No, I guess he’s been saying some other stuff throughout the day’, and they proceeded to just escort him out of here.”
