Ghislaine Maxwell’s secret agenda: She plays the victim over Epstein’s impotence, her intimate condition, and 9/11 heartbreak… but there’s a blatant ulterior motive

Ghislaine Maxwell paints herself as the ultimate victim in a newly released interview that lays bare her humiliations at the hands of Jeffrey Epstein, her fears of dying a lonely spinster and the moment their relationship crumbled in the aftermath of 9/11.

The disgraced socialite broke her silence on the ten-year romance when she was briefly let out of jail last month to speak with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche.

In transcripts released late Friday, Maxwell describes how the warped financier seduced her over a cup of tea after they were introduced by a gal pal in 1991.

But after a one-night stand Epstein gave a confused Maxwell the cold shoulder, she says, blowing off further attempts at intimacy, seeing other girlfriends and forcing her to sleep alone.

He claimed to have a heart condition that limited his love making and when they did go to bed Epstein struggled to maintain an erection, Maxwell told Blanche in a self-pitying diatribe.

She accepted their ten-year tryst was over when the billionaire wouldn’t travel five blocks to comfort her when they were both in Manhattan during the 9/11 attacks.

Maxwell nonetheless remained on the late pedophile’s payroll, earning a 20-year federal prison sentence in 2022 for procuring young girls for him to abuse.

Her new testimony offered few new clues about the supposed high-profile individuals lurking on Epstein’s unpublished client list.

Indeed, in her own words, Maxwell likened the frenzy for names to a ‘Salem witch trial’.

But it did paint her as a lonely heiress – scorned, embittered and so desperate for love that she even dreamed of having a child with the billionaire predator, who hanged himself behind bars in 2019 while awaiting trial.

‘He just invited me to come and have tea, and I was like, tea, that’s English. Okay,’ Maxwell recalled glowingly of their first meeting in 1991 at Epstein’s New York offices.

Maxwell was in her late 20s but already panicking about her ticking biological clock. She had just split up with a boyfriend when a female friend offered to introduce her.

‘I’ve got a guy for you to meet. And I was like, who is it? And she goes, he’s been dating my sister. You’ll love him,’ Maxwell told Blanche.

‘He’s looking for a wife. I’m edging towards 30. I don’t need to tell you guys, that’s a very important moment for a girl to, like, think about important things. And sure, I’d be happy to meet him.’

The first thing Maxwell noticed during her date with Epstein, who worked for banking giant Bear Stearns, was a food stain on his necktie.

‘I think the most memorable thing I can think about that is he was wearing a tie, which he didn’t often do. It had a giant, seemed like a ketchup stain on it,’ she recalled. ‘So I was like, wow, okay.’

She nonetheless found her rich new beau ‘very engaging’. After their initial night of passion, lovelorn Maxwell believed she had bagged a rich boyfriend.

‘So in 1992, I slept with him one time and I was like, whoa, that’s it. We’re going to be dating because that’s how I thought,’ she told Blanche.

‘I felt if you slept with someone, that you were then dating them. That’s the world I came from … but we didn’t sleep together again for, I don’t know, really a significant period of time.’

The barren spell lasted nine months by which time Maxwell was helping Epstein acquire a lavish property empire – including a former Iranian embassy – while living in a poky ten-foot-square apartment herself.

She was acting as his de facto general manager with an annual salary of $25,000, rising eventually to $250,000 per year.

The pair slept in the same bed when they visited Epstein’s swish homes in Ohio and Palm Beach, Florida but lovemaking was a rarity.

‘Epstein told me that he had a heart condition,’ she told Feds.

‘Which meant that he didn’t have intercourse a lot, which suited me fine, because I actually do have a medical condition, which precludes me having a lot of intercourse.’

Blanche pushed the disgraced daughter of the late newspaper baron Robert Maxwell for more detail about the heart condition.

‘I don’t know. I mean, he liked other forms of sexual activities,’ Maxwell replied.

Maxwell agreed Epstein was ‘basically her life.’ But by 1999 they weren’t having sex at all and Epstein was openly dating someone else.

If Maxwell still hoped he might one day put a ring on her finger, the terror attacks of September 11, 2001, shattered the illusion.

Both were in Manhattan that day, just blocks apart. As the city reeled, Maxwell turned to her long-term love interest for comfort.

Instead, he refused to see her.

‘If you’re not going to be there for someone on 9/11, you’re never going to be there. For me, that was the line’s end,’ she recalled bitterly.

‘I had wanted to get married and have children. And Epstein had encouraged me to believe that that would [happen] … certainly by the mid late ’90s.

‘I knew the marriage part was never going to happen. I had believed that maybe in ’96, ’97, ’98 maybe, but then I realized it wasn’t that. But I did think that we might have a child, which is what I had really wanted.’

By 2001, Maxwell said she had fallen in love with Ted Waitt, an American business mogul and philanthropist, and the pair embarked on ‘an amazing relationship.’

But as her federal trial would later reveal, her association with Epstein was far from over.

In the wake of her chat with Blanche, Maxwell was suddenly moved from FCI Tallahassee, a low security lockup in northern Florida to the far cushier Federal Prison Camp Bryan in Texas.

Her attorney David Oscar Markus insists she was moved for her safety not because of any favoritism.

She is said to be seeking a pardon from President Donald Trump – a former pal of Epstein in the 1990s and early 2000s – whom she lavished with praise every time his name was brought up in the hours-long grilling.

‘The President was never inappropriate with anybody. In the times that I was with him, he was a gentleman in all respects,’ Maxwell insisted.
