Georginio Rutter scores controversial last-gasp equaliser after Jarrod Bowen’s strike

GEORGINIO Rutter bagged in injury time to salavage a draw for Brighton against West Ham

As the ball bounced around the box with the Seagulls pressing for an equaliser, Rutter managed to sneak the ball in the near post and past Alphonse Areola.

Jarrod Bowen had appeared to be West Ham’s saviour yet again when he out the visitors in the lead in the 73 minute.

Despite the home side having more of the ball, the Hammers played well on the break and that’s exactly how West Ham scored.

A long hoof up the pitch halted a Brighton attack and Jepp van Hecke’s loose header allowed Callum Wilson to run in behind.

The former Newcastle man found a surging Bowen who somehow slid the ball home past Bart Vebruggen.
