GABBY LOGAN and her family emotionally looked on as Leeds United and Fulham paid tribute to her late father, Terry Yorath, ahead of their Premier League showdown.
Yorath made 141 appearances for Leeds where he won the old First Division and had FA Cup and European Cup runner-up medals during his nine-year stay.
Logan was flanked by her brother Jordan Yorath at Elland Road as well as her daughter Lois and her brother’s fiancée, Leanna Corban as Elland Road rang out in a minute’s applause for her father.
Both teams gathered around the centre-circle to pay their respects to the Wales legend ahead of kick-off.
Both sides also wore black armbands to mark the occasion.
Some of Yorath’s other former clubs, like Bradford City, also held a minute’s applause.
Additionally, supporters have been encouraged to join a minute of applause in the 67th minute in memory of supporter Colin Wood, who sadly passed away ahead of Leeds’ last home fixture against Manchester United .
The lifelong fan was 67 when he passed and his family will also be in attendance for the match.
Yorath passed away 10 days ago aged 75 following a short illness.
Logan, had been presenting Match of the Day live during the evening but was replaced mid-broadcast by Mark Chapman, who informed the audience Logan had to attend a “family emergency.”
Logan will no doubt be very grateful for the outpouring of love and respect for her father inside the ground.
She opened up on his death this week on the Sports Agents podcast.
She said: “I’m OK, it’s been a tough week, but I’m glad to be back in the saddle, after what has been a very emotional few days.
“Actually, we’re sitting here now having already had our chat with [podcast guest] Robert Smethurst, and some of the things he talks about in terms of football as a community, our family has experienced in bucket loads over the last few days.”
Logan also said she has been “totally overwhelmed and inundated” with messages of love, support and stories about her dad since his passing.
