MIGRANTS housed in an Army camp will get arts and crafts classes, The Sun can reveal.
The soft regime for 600 asylum seekers emerged as thousands of flag-waving locals marched in protest at the accommodation plans for the third week in a row.
Jobs have already been advertised for a £32,000-a-year “activity coordinator” who will organise the arty classes and well-being sessions.
There will also be language lessons, sports and cultural events.
The “weekly and monthly calendar of activities” needs to be “inclusive, culturally sensitive and aligned with migrants’ needs and interests”.
Other jobs will include five site managers on up to £60,000 a year, a security team leader on £44,000, and 15 security officers on £35,000.
Last night critics claimed the Government was “turning the military base into a wellness retreat”.
And Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp said: “The British people are sick of this madness.”
The latest demo in the small town of Crowborough, East Sussex, saw 600 protesters carrying numbered cards — one for each asylum seeker due to move in there from the end of this month.
They say they fear for the safety of women and children and well as the extra pressure on local services.
In an unusual move, police were seen handing out rape alarms in the town yesterday — though they insisted it was not connected to the influx of men.
They said: “The local neighbourhood policing team attended a community event as part of its routine crime prevention and engagement work.”
But Kim Bailey, chair of campaign group Crowborough Shield, said: “If everything is ‘safe, legal and compliant’, why do women in a sleepy little town like Crowborough need rape alarms?”
Organisers estimate up to 3,000 people braved the rain to protest yesterday.
Office administrator Penny Saunders, 58, said: “This is about community and the fact these men will be undocumented. It’s about safety — it’s not about racism.”
A 43-year-old company director, who gave his name as Adam, said: “I want to make a stand against what’s being imposed on our community.
“I want to protect my mum, my wife and daughter. We will be here until we don’t have to come any more.”
MP Mr Philp told The Sun: “Families are struggling with the cost of living. The taxpayers footing the bill are told there’s no money for local policing or housing.
“But somehow there’s always room in the budget for activities for those who broke into Britain.”
Cllr Andrew Wilson, who represents Crowborough South East ward on Wealden District Council, said: “This isn’t compassion, it’s chaos.
“Local people are struggling with the cost of living, our public services are stretched to breaking point, and yet taxpayers are being asked to fund leisure activities for people who arrived here illegally.”
The council has taken steps to see if there are any grounds for a legal challenge.
And Crowborough Shield has instructed a law firm to represent it in judicial review proceedings.
The group has had a £10,000 donation towards legal fees and has crowd-funded another £30,000.

Chair Kim, who met with Home Office minister Alex Norris last week, says residents could get as little as 48 hours’ notice before the first asylum seekers arrive.
The base is currently used to put up troops and cadets using a training area.
It has brick buildings, Nissen huts, a shooting range, assault course and playing fields.
Security at the military camp has been stepped up in the last few days, with dog-handlers seen patrolling the grounds and new fencing erected.
It comes after vandals targeted the Army base in a window-smashing spree.
Police confirmed they were investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, migrant charity Care4Calais is recruiting volunteers to support refugees at the site.
The Home Office said it was cutting down the number of illegal migrants put up in hotels.
“They added: “Basic activities and services may be provided while asylum seekers await their claim and are unable to work.”
Contractor Clearsprings Ready Homes, which will run the site, declined to comment.
