A FURNITURE shop has launched a huge closing down sale with up to 40 per cent off ahead of shutting for good in weeks.
The iconic show room has existed in the town for 60 years.

Shackletons retail showroom at Batley, West Yorkshire, is closing down.
In a Facebook post, a store spokesperson declared its “final weeks” are nigh.
On the plus side, customers can get their hands on discounted chairs, sofas, beds and mattresses.
A Shackletons spokesperson said: “Final Weeks – Shackletons retail showroom at Batley is closing down.
“This is your final chance to save up to 40% off in our Closing Down Sale.
“Up to 40% off all showroom furniture: Recliner Chairs & Sofas, High Back Chairs, Adjsutable Beds & Mattresses.
“Hurry down to 359 Bradford Road, Batley, WF17 5PH whilst stock lasts!”
Staff members at the showroom have been told they will be made redundant and have been offered redundancy packages ahead of the closure, Yorkshire Live reports.
The showroom has been a fixture of the Batley community for the past 60 years but has been struggling financially recently.
With an increased cost-of-living, alongside lowered sales, the owners have made the decision to close the showroom.
However, Shackletons itself will remain open and based in Batley, as the contracts side of the business has continued to be profitable.
The home and garden furniture store has received plenty of gleaming Google Reviews over the years.
One person said: “Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
“Showed me lots of options for a reclining armchair.
“They then agreed to visit my sister two days later with a possible choice for her and said if she liked it, she could have it there and then.
“Excellent service and the chair was soooo comfortable and just what she needed. Thank you shackletons, no waiting for weeks for delivery.”
Followed by a second: “Excellent choice of chairs, choice of hundreds of different fabrics and designs.
“Staff were very helpful and we enjoyed a very good cup of coffee whilst testing one of the chairs with a foot rest and reclining back, really comfortable. Would recommend.”
Meanwhile a third said: “Lovely clean showroom, pleasant staff.
“We went to have cushions recovered on a suite that we bought from there 17 years ago.
“Fortunately they still had the templates, unfortunately material not used anymore, but we found a contrasting one so hopefully within a few weeks the sofa will look as good as new!
“Just shows that you get what you pay for, the furniture seemed a bit expensive in 2001, but has stood the test of time extremely well! Well done Shackletons.”
