A FURIOUS X Factor star has hit back after being fat-shamed by a nasty troll, 12 years after ITV show.
Sam Bailey, 48, won the hit ITV talent show in 2013, but has revealed today the toll the trolls have had on her.
Since her launch to fame on The X Factor 12 years ago, Sam has launched a career on stage as well as releasing two successful albums.
However, she has revealed the sad price of fame when it comes to social media.
The singer has revealed how she was trolled by a follower who posted: “What has happened to Sam? She’s let herself go.”
After seeing this message, Sam vented in a lengthy video on Instagram which lasted over 20 minutes.
On it she fumed: “Anyway, so I posted a video two days ago of me sat down in a chair with a microphone, belting out a little bit of Whitney, my favourite song to sing, one of them anyway.
“And someone posted something like I’d let myself go. Firstly, I’d had a shower about 20 minutes before that, I had no makeup on.
“And yes, I was wearing a track suit, which is what I feel most comfortable in. Especially when you’re doing rehearsals and stuff like that.”
Continuing, Sam vented: And I was like, ‘Why would you say that? Like, why? Why?’
“And it really like, it didn’t upset me because I mean, I know I’m getting old. I’m 48.
“And, and yeah, I’ve got lots of lines and bags under my eyes, because I work f***ing hard. Excuse my French.
“But what annoys me the most is that there’s people out there that just need building up.
“And it’s people like that, that put people down.”
Sam shot to fame on The X Factor in 2013 winning a place in Sharon Osbourne’s Over 25s by belting out Beyonce’s Listen.
She made it all the way on the show, beating Nicholas McDonald to take the crown and becoming the show’s first winner to bag a Christmas No1 for three years.
Sam lives in Leicester with Craig, whom she married in Las Vegas in 2003, and their three children Tommy, Brooke, and Miley.
She quit her job as a prison guard at HMP Gartree soon after winning The X Factor, going on to star in musicals Chicago and Fat Friends.
The star’s debut album, The Power Of Love, also shot to No1 and she supported Beyonce on a date of her UK tour in 2014.
