A POPULAR family restaurant chain has closed 16 locations with immediate effect.
The restructuring move comes after the brand recently entered pre-pack administration.

TGI Fridays has ceased operations at 16 sites with immediate effect on Tuesday, 13 January, after the brand officially entered administration.
The business and assets of Liberty Bar and Restaurant Group Limited, the operator of the British arm of the American-themed dining chain, were recently acquired by Sugarloaf TGIF Operations Limited.
This transaction, completely immediately after administrators were appointed, protected 1,384 jobs across 33 sites.
However, 16 of the group’s locations were not included in the resuce deal, resulting in more than 450 job losses.
The full list of TGI Fridays locations which abruptly closed this week has now been revealed.
A total of 456 redundancies have resulted from the series of location closures.
The joint administrators overseeing the closure of the restaurants said supporting the affected employees is now a priority.
Ryan Grant and Will Wright were appointed joint administrators to Liberty Bar and Restaurant Group Limited this week.
In a statement Phil Broad, Global President of TGI Fridays, described the move as the “best outcome for the business”.
He added that focus will now turn to reinvigorating the TGI Fridays brand.
“I believe that the future of the brand is in strong hands – focused on reinvigorating the brand while continuing to deliver the bold flavours, welcoming atmosphere, and high-energy dining experience that define TGI Fridays,” he said.
