From pear juice to patches – I test three products designed to help you survive festive hangovers

PARTY season is in full swing, but it can take a toll on your health.

It’s a good idea to stick to the guidelines on limits – and plan alcohol-free days.

Also, eat before you hit the booze, to slow the absorption of alcohol in to your bloodstream.

Here, in the name of research, I’ve tried out some health products that may help this month. Cheers!

PEAR JUICE

Nashi pear juice promises to help beat a hangover with centuries-old Korean know-how, but in my test it didn’t quite do the trickCredit: Supplied

NASHI pear juice is dubbed the newest way to get ahead of a hangover.

It has been used for centuries in Korea as an effective pre-drink.

The £2.60 ‘hangover cure’ that celebrities swear by for Christmas party season

Korean pears can aid alcohol metabolism, break down toxic by-products more efficiently and reduce inflammation, meaning fewer symptoms often associated with a bevvy.

And testers even had less alcohol in their system the next day.

Nashi comes in a 250ml can, with nothing artificial. Just tasty pear juice, with vitamins and minerals.

Sadly,  it didn’t do much for my hangover.

RECOVER PATCHES

Kind Patches’ Recover Patches deliver a slow-release mix of vitamins and minerals overnight – and they really helped ease my hangover symptomsCredit: Kind Patches

KIND PATCHES’ Recover Patches are like small plasters you put on your skin and are infused with essential vitamins and minerals designed to rejuvenate and refresh.

They release slowly over eight hours and contain vitamins A, C, D, E and B, magnesium, potassium, beetroot extract, turmeric, boswellia, taurine and green-tree extract.

There is also glutathione, which helps detoxify, amino acid L-glutamine to repair tissues, reduce fatigue and support gut health, and choline which helps your body process and eliminate alcohol.

Apply before boozing and wear for about eight hours. The patch keeps nutrient levels stable during the night.

These did reduce my  hangover symptoms.

SUPPLEMENT

WillPowders Rise & Shine capsules combine vitamins, antioxidants and detoxifying ingredients – and they completely banished my hangoverCredit: Willpowders

CERTAIN supplements can help the morning after, such as B vitamins to boost mood and support brain function.

Omega-3 reduces inflammation and coats the stomach, and probiotics rebalance gut bacteria.

Antioxidant-rich turmeric, too, helps you recover.

But I now swear by this pill –  it totally works for me.

WillPowders Rise & Shine capsules contain antioxidant-rich milk thistle and n-acetyl cysteine, detoxifying calcium d-glucarate, B and C vitamins, trace element molybdenum to help excrete toxins, plus anti-aging NADH and brain function-enhancing phosphatidylcholine.

Take three before booze and three after.

My head, liver and stomach swear by this hangover-fighting mix.
