IF you’re reading this page, you like a bargain when shopping.
Whether you’re in the market for a comfy new sofa or a pair of shoes, everyone wants to get the best price available.
Here, we reveal how to shop smart and spend less . . .
SHOP AROUND: If you’ve got your eye on a particular product, don’t assume you can’t get it cheaper elsewhere.
Use a comparison site such as PriceRunner (pricerunner.com) to find the lowest price.
You’ll be surprised by how many stores stock exactly the same products for wildly different prices.

Shopping tool Dig (joindig.co.uk) also allows you to search for items either by description or image.
The great thing about Dig is that it also scans second-hand selling sites — so you could find the jumper you’re after on Vinted, for example.
CRACK THE CODES: Many retailers offer online discount codes that will slice a percentage off the cost of your spend.
One of the easiest ways to get a code is to subscribe to a retailer’s mailing list.
New Look, River Island and Crocs are just a few of the brands that offer discounts to new customers this way.
If you have multiple email addresses, you can use the offer more than once.
And you can always unsubscribe once your order is complete.
You can also search for ongoing discount codes at myvouchercodes.co.uk or vouchercodes.co.uk.
COUNT ON CASHBACK: Getting money back when you spend is one way to reduce the overall cost of a purchase, though it can take a few weeks.
Simply click through a cashback site or app and it will give you back a percentage of your spend.
They all have different deals but Topcashback.co.uk, Quidco. com and the JamDoughnut app are among the best.
Some banks, such as Halifax, also offer cashback when spending at selected brands — though you’ll need to activate the offers first.
If combined with a cashback site, you can earn cashback twice on one purchase.
