Man City have won this competition four of the last eight years – but not since their 2020/21.
That last win came on the back of four successive successes in this competition and after a trophyless campaign last season, this is sure to be a competition they take seriously this year.
City arrive at the fixture on a good run, having won five on the spin with Sunday’s impressive 3-0 win at Crystal Palace.

Their recent results at the Etihad haven’t been too bad either, losing by the odd goal on their last two trips after a win back in 2022 thanks to an Ivan Toney brace.
They’ve not had an easy run to get here, having come through ties with Bournemouth and Aston Villa before a thumping win at Grimsby last time out.
