Get your laughing gear going with a free podcast. Head to the BBC Sounds app and browse “comedy” for some of the funniest shows.
You can do a similar search on Spotify and tune into the likes of Parenting Hell with Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe or Alan Carr’s Life’s A Beach.
PLAYING FOR LAUGHS: Press play on some side-splitting comedy clips on YouTube. It is the place to find classic clips from comedians including Morecambe And Wise and The Two Ronnies.
You can also find today’s comedians giving it their all on YouTube channels such as Universal Comedy or Channel 4’s A Comedy Thing.
Alternatively, some comedians, such as Peter Kay and Sarah Millican, have their own channels that will help you beat the January blues.
FUNNY FILM: A film is a great way to lift your mood and with all the streaming services now available, you have mood-boosting fun at your fingertips.
So, if you need a giggle, grab your remote and see what is showing. Increase the feel-good factor by inviting a friend to join you on the sofa.
GAME FOR A LAUGH: Free fun doesn’t have to involve technology. You can have some of the biggest laughs playing a traditional board game, such as Twister or Articulate.
You don’t even need equipment — a simple mime game like Charades can have everyone in stitches.
Up the fun by insisting people act out their clues while standing on one leg or in the style of something funny, like an animal or particular actor.
