TODAY is “Sell-It Sunday”, according to resale site Vinted.
It’s the day we are most likely to upload our unwanted Christmas gifts to the marketplace.
Other sites, such as eBay and Gumtree, will also see a post-Christmas frenzy.
So boost your bank balance by selling your old items, or pick up a bargain.
BEST SELLERS: During the first week of January, Vinted typically sees a peak in listings of items containing the words “unwanted gift” in their description.
The top-selling items with these keywords are women’s body cosmetics, perfume, jewellery, nightwear and make-up.

We spotted ‘new with tags’ Dior Backstage Blush, which normally retails for around £31, listed on Vinted for £18.
Fitness gear and sports items also sell well at this time of year.
WORDS MATTER: Buyers will be searching for unwanted gifts in mint condition.
The best way for them to find your item is to use keywords in the title and then repeat them in the description.
Using terms such as “New Year clear- out”, “unwanted gift”, “new with tags”, “never used” and “perfect condition” will get the most eyeballs on your items.
If you are selling beauty items, include words and phrases like “sealed”, “unused” and “new in box”.
STAND OUT: To get your listing noticed, use bright, natural photos that show tags, packaging or the condition of the item clearly.
Don’t price things too high as cash-strapped January buyers will be looking for a bargain.
Use all the keywords you can and list your item soon to give it the best chance of selling in the peak New Year window.
BEST FOR BUYERS: This is a great time to snap up some bargains to gift to friends and family all year round, or even save for next Christmas.
Look out for items that won’t date, such as perfume gift sets or beauty bundles.
Classic necklaces, bracelets and unworn earrings, especially in original boxes, make great gifts down the line.
