A FORMER TOWIE couple have confirmed they are engaged after a sweet proposal.
Shelby Tribble has revealed that her co-star lover Sam Mucklow popped the question over the New Year.
The former ITV reality star shared a snap of her stunning new engagement ring as she marked the momentous occasion.
33-year-old Shelby’s oval diamond ring glistened in the snap which also showcased a huge floral decoration in the shape of a love heart.
Roses were scattered around a sign that said “will you marry me” for the gorgeous proposal during the pair’s New Year holiday.
Captioning the snaps, Shelby said: “YES a million times over.
“You are the love of my life. I can’t wait to marry you.”
Shelby has been dating Sam for years with the couple sharing two children together – Abel, four, and Teskey, eight months.
As well as appearing on The Only Way Is Essex, Shelby and Sam also featured on the first series of MTV‘s Famous and Pregnant, which followed her pregnancy with their first son, Abel.
Shelby and Sam first met on TOWIE in 2018 and began their romantic relationship a year later.
Reacting to the news of the engagement, their former co-star Courtney Green said: “Ahhhhh shibs!!!! So happy for you.”
Amber Turner added: “Omggggg! Congratulations, so happy for u love u both xxxxx.”
Whilst Georgia Kousoulou penned: ‘Oh my!! So so happy for you.”
Shelby and Sam’s romance was fraught in the early days with them being open on TOWIE about their plans to enjoy a ‘friends with benefits‘ style connection and would not actually romantically commit to one another.
However, when Sam also began casually dating Demi Sims, Shelby’s jealousy came to the forefront.
It led them to re-evaluate their romance before they eventually began to solely date each other.
Prior to her entanglement with Sam, Shelby had a romance with another co-star, Pete Wicks.
The Sun first confirmed they’d split in 2018 – months before Shelby began hooking up with Sam.
Sources claimed that Pete brutally saw Shelby as “boring” and only romanced her by way of a rebound after his highly-publicised split from Megan McKenna earlier in the year.
