DANNY INGS has found a new home in South Yorkshire after the former England international put pen to paper at Sheffield United.
The striker has been training with the Blades and done enough to earn a one-year contract.
Ings told the club’s official website: “I am delighted. It has been a busy few days.
“When I spoke to the manager and he asked me to come up and spend some time with him and the group, I just thought it was a great opportunity.
“To be sat here now speaking to you, and the Sheffield United fans, is just fantastic.
“As soon as I spoke to the manager, I wanted to get up here and sit down face-to-face and meet everybody here.
“To be sat here now, and signed, it is really exciting.
“I’ve been keeping myself fit and I’ve just been waiting for the right opportunity.
“I thought this was a great one for me and a chance to progress my career as well.”
After starting his career at Bournemouth in 2009, Ings, 33, first made a name for himself during his four-year spell with Burnley from 2011-2015.

Ings netted 43 times under Sean Dyche, earning him a dream move to English football giants, Liverpool ahead of the 2015/2016 Premier League season.
Unfortunately, mainly due to a number of injury troubles, Ings’ time in Merseyside didn’t work out. Following a loan spell at Southampton in 2018, his move was made permanent.
During the 2019/20 league season, Ings placed second in the Golden Boot rankings with a total of 22 goals, just pone goal behind Jamie Vardy.
In the summer of 2021, he opted for a change of scenery and signed for Aston Villa where he spent the best part of three years.
Despite interest from abroad, Ings decided to continue his mission in the top flight, and made the switch to West Ham in January of 2023.
Ings was apart of the famous 2022/23 West Ham squad that lifted the Conference League trophy in Prague.
Following the expiry of his Hammers contract, Ings has now signed for the Blades on a one-year deal, with the option to extend.
Across his 16 years as a pro, Ings earned three caps for England. His first and only three-lions goal came against Wales in 2020.
