Burnley vs Bournemouth: Bournemouth to score 2+ goals 8/11
I get the sense that Burnley’s defeat to Brentford at the end of February may have crushed their hopes of Premier League survival. They followed that up with a routine 2-0 defeat against Everton, and the gap to 17th place has now widened to nine points.
They have lost each of their last three games at Turf Moor, including a 2-1 loss to League One side Mansfield, conceding two or more goals in each of those matches. Now Bournemouth arrive having done much of their best work on the road recently, winning two of their last three away games.
Millwall vs Blackburn: Millwall win 7/10
They may be odds-on, but 7/10 looks a reasonable price to back promotion-chasing Millwall after a run of four consecutive victories, three of which came with clean sheets.
Automatic promotion to the Premier League is within reach as they take on a Blackburn side who have lost two of their last three, and only avoided making it three defeats on the bounce thanks to a stoppage-time equaliser last time out.
West Brom vs Hull: Hull double chance 8/11
5th-placed Hull continue to be disrespected by the bookies, this time offered at 12/5 to beat a West Brom side in freefall and without a victory in any of their last 14 matches in all competitions (inside 90 minutes).
The Tigers have won three of their last five Championship matches, including an impressive 2-1 victory over Wrexham at the Racecourse in midweek. Sergej Jakirovic’s side have the second-best away points tally in the division, with only Middlesbrough, Coventry and Southampton scoring more goals on the road.
Wycombe vs Luton: Wycombe to score 2+ goals 11/10
OK, they came unstuck against Bolton last weekend, somehow losing after being 2-0 up in the 88th minute, but we think Wycombe are more than capable of bouncing back to score 2+ goals against Luton this weekend.
Wycombe, who are well in with a shout of the playoffs, have won each of their last four matches at Adams Park, scoring a colossal 12 goals in the process. That’s good news as they entertain Jack Wilshere’s Luton side, who are winless in their last 11 away games.
Cambridge vs Gillingham: Cambridge win 8/13
Cambridge United have had a few too many draws for my liking in recent weeks, but a home clash against Gillingham should provide the perfect antidote.
The Gills have lost five of their last seven away games in League Two and arrive a few days after being roundly trounced by MK Dons on home turf. That should be seized upon by Cambridge, who have the best home record in the division, losing just once at the Abbey all season.
