A flight attendant was found dead in a five-star Dubai hotel room after being stabbed at least 15 times with scissors – and her ex-husband has been arrested.
Albert Morgan, 41, from Russia, was detained on suspicion of murder after he touched down in St Petersburg, a court said.
Investigators believe the legal consultant ‘stalked’ his former partner to the United Arab Emirates this week after being consumed by jealousy.
He is said to have falsely believed she was working as an escort for VIP passengers whilst they had been in a relationship.
Morgan reportedly posed as a guest to gain access to her room in the Voco Bonnington hotel with the intention of smearing her with green paint and cutting her hair with scissors.
But a row broke out between the pair when he appeared, which allegedly ended with Morgan launching a frenzied attack with the scissors before fleeing.
The 25-year-old was found with at least 15 stab wounds to her neck, torso and limbs, according to officials.
The pair lived together in St Petersburg for two years when they were together.

After they broke up, Morgan is said to have accessed her private messages – which prompted him to make the 2,700-mile flight to confront her.
He allegedly travelled to Dubai with an accomplice – a bailiff from St Petersburg – who followed the victim from the lobby to figure out her room number.
Then, after donning a hotel robe from the laundry room, Morgan is said to have persuaded a maid to let him into the room, claiming he had forgotten his key.
Dubai police identified the suspect from hotel CCTV and notified Russian authorities, who made the arrest.
Before being detained, Morgan reportedly sent requests to be dispatched to fight in Putin’s war against Ukraine.
Signing up to fight is a common loophole used by many alleged criminals in Russia to evade justice.
Despite this bid, Morgan was detained by police and has been remanded in custody for two months pending further investigations.

During their two-year marriage, the woman had several times called police over conflicts with Morgan but then withdrawn her complaints against him, say reports citing law enforcement sources.
Court footage shows the suspect wearing a hat and mask as he appeared before a Russian judge.
A court statement read: ‘The Oktyabrsky District Court of St Petersburg has ordered Albert Morgan to remain in custody as a preventive measure, accused of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code (murder).’
Investigative officials in St Petersburg said: ‘According to investigators, between December 17 and 18 of this year, the man, while stalking the victim, with whom he had previously been in a relationship, stabbed her at least 15 times in her vital organs with a stabbing or cutting object, resulting in her death.
‘After committing the crime, the man fled the country and was arrested upon his return to St. Petersburg.’
