THE flagship store of a leading British cycle retailer is set to close and a huge sale has launched.

It is set to shut up shop permanently in what seems to be a huge blow to the East Midlands.

A Nottinghamshire branch of Evans Cycles will soon close down and the owners have just announced a clearing sale.

The shop is currently located on the famous Maid Marian Way in the city centre.

Owned by the Frasers Group, shoppers will be able to buy leading brands of a range of cycling gear.

The shop sells everything from clothing and accessories to different types of bikes such as mountain and electric.

As part of the closing down sale, the branch is now offering 20 percent off all products.

It is currently not clear when the shop will close its doors and The Sun has contacted Frasers Group for comment.

More closures in Nottingham

Evans Cycles is not the only shop that will shut or has closed down.

Just a few doors down on Maid Marian Way, Raleigh also closed its experience centre.

The brand shut up shop two years ago in 2023 after less than a year since its opening.

This comes after the Nottinghamshire company announced cost-cutting measures.

Frasers in trouble?

Multiple businesses owned by the Frasers Group in Nottingham have also closed down or are facing the axe.

After nearly three decades, House of Fraser – located in the Victoria Centre – will close its doors for the last time in October.

In 2022, Chief Executive of the Fraser Group Michael Murray described the department fashion brand as a “broken business”.

This comes amid a series of closures across the nation.

In July, the GAME shop in the shopping centre also ceased trading, although other shops are still running across the city.

These include Flannels and Sports Direct which are located in Lister Gate.
