SCHOOL is nearly out – and with this comes the parent panic about what to buy your child’s form teacher this Christmas.
But it need not be a pricey present because there are plenty of heartfelt, budget-friendly gifts they will love.
Here are some ideas . . .
THE WRITE STUFF: A sincere, handwritten note from your little one is the simplest and easiest way to say thank you to a brilliant teacher.
Get your kids to make their own card and write down what they enjoy most about school.
BAG OF FUN: A handy tote bag can be used by teachers to carry books, pens and homework between school and home.

You can get sets of plain or “colour-me-in” tote bags from Etsy for around £5, with fabric pens or paints included.
Kids can then personalise the bag with hand-prints, a drawing or the teacher’s name for a personal touch.
NOTE THIS: Get a plain spiral notebook for £1 and a sheet of stickers from Hobbycraft and get crafting with the kids to create a totally unique notepad.
If you know the teacher likes a particular hobby, colour or animal, find some stickers with that theme.
This mess-free activity will also keep the kids busy after school.
SHARING IS CARING: Think edible and sharable for budget gifts that every teacher will appreciate.
A home-made Christmas cake, biscuits or fudge for the staff room allows the gift to be shared with admin staff too, as they often don’t receive gifts.
Keep any home-made bakes nut-free, just in case someone at the school has an allergy.
GROUP SAVER: Instead of a single present, club together with a couple of other parents to create a DIY hamper for all the staff.
For around £15, you can pick up biscuits, tea and chocolates and even a bottle of Italian Pinot Grigio, now reduced to £3.99 at Aldi.
Arrange the goodies in a box or basket, or pick up a DIY hamper set for £3.99 at Wilko.
It comes with cellophane and a basket, so you can present it nicely.
