KEEN to net the health benefits of eating fish but worried that catch of the day is too pricey?
Then we have some great ways to land a good deal, meaning you can tuck into fish suppers for less.
Here’s all you need to know . . .
FREEZER PLEASERS: To save on price, steer clear of the fresh fish aisle and head for the freezers instead.
At Tesco, fresh cod fillets are £23.04 a kilo, compared with £13.89 a kilo for frozen.
Save even more by buying frozen “white fish” fillets, which are pollock, and cost £4.52 a kilo.

IN THE CAN: Tinned fish is another brilliant way to get all the Omega 3 goodness of oily fish without having to raid the bank.
Canned tuna, sardines, mackerel or salmon are excellent budget-friendly options.
They have a long shelf life, which cuts waste, and can be used in salads, pasta, sandwiches or to make tasty homemade fish cakes.
ASK THE EXPERTS: If you’re lucky to have a fishmonger near you, ask them to tip you off about the best buys.
They will know the cheapest options and can cut a piece of fish to size to save on waste.
You can also ask for cheaper offcuts to use in soups, stews and fish pies.
FISHY FRIDAYS: With a Morrisons More card, you can save 20 per cent on fresh fish at the Market Street counter every Friday.
My Waitrose members get a similar discount ahead of the weekend with 20 per cent off selected seafood at the in-store fish counter.
Look out for multibuy deals, too.
At Iceland, you can get fresh or frozen fish as part of a three-for-£10 promotion.
WHOLE-SOME SAVINGS: Buying a whole fish can work out much cheaper than getting individual steaks.
Learn how to fillet a fish by following an online guide and then use your skills to save money.
There will be next to no waste either, as the head and bones can be used to make a tasty stock that you can then put in pies or soups.
