“There’s gonna be more unmaskings than ever,” Joel teases.

The trailer ends with Davina getting upset as she tells Joel: “Don’t come to me first,” as she breaks down.

He asks: “Are you emosh?” as she says: “I feel so emosh,” before putting her head down and crying.

ITV viewers were shocked as TV legend Dermot took the win in last night’s special and was unmasked as Mistletoe.

Maya, Jonathan and Davina all correctly guessed Dermot, while Mo opted to go for Big Narstie.

In second place was Figgy Pudding, who was unmasked as Scott Mills – with Maya getting it right.

“I saw you two weeks ago and you knew you were doing this then!” yelled Davina after Scott’s reveal. “I’ll never trust you again!”

Speaking about his win, Dermot told ITV: “It felt good. But I think everyone knew it was me by that point.”

He also added that the most challenging aspect of doing the show was the lack of vision.

Dermot said: “I had no vision at all. It’s quite claustrophobic and it’s quite tight in the costume. Which is fine as long as you deal with that.”

Over the 90 minute special, four new masked characters competed and sang festive songs while the hit show’s panel attempted to guess their identity.

Mistletoe, Goose A-Laying, Santa’s Sack and Figgy Pudding were the new gang to guess.

Mistletoe won the first round against Goose A-Laying, meaning Goose was the first to be unmasked after the first 30 minutes of the episode.

She was revealed to be legendary actress and Coronation Street star Maureen Lipman.

Figgy Pudding was third on the stage, with clues including a pie chart on the wall and references to being a ‘gourmet globetrotter.’

In the face off between Figgy Pudding and Santa’s Sack, the latter came out on the bottom and was unmasked next.

Baroness Floella Benjamin was revealed as the person behind the mask.

The special episode also featured an array of panto legends including Su Pollard, Lesley Joseph, Basil Brush and Christopher Biggins who weighed in with extra clues for the panel.

The Masked Singer returns on Saturday 3rd January on ITV, STV, ITVX and STV Player.
