Millie Bobby Brown and her husband Jake Bongiovi made the shock announcement yesterday that they adopted a baby girl – and now, they may have given a peek into what they named their new bundle of joy.
The Stranger Things actress, 21, and her husband, 23, were spotted out for a walk in East Hampton with a pushchair, with the new mum proudly flaunting her new role by wearing a sweatshirt with the word ‘mother’ emblazoned on it.
In addition to her sweater, Brown was also spotted holding a phone case with the initials ‘RWB’ in bright red letters, possibly indicating what they may have named their baby.
Many have theorised that the phone case may be their daughter’s initials, and some have speculated that the baby’s first name could have been inspired by Millie’s late grandmother, Ruth, who passed away in 2020.
According to Bump.com, the name Ruth has Biblical origins and means ‘friend’.
The couple announced the adoption on Thursday in an Instagram post which read: ‘This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption.
‘We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy. And then there were three. Love, Millie and Jake.’
The actress has previously been vocal about her close knit relationship with her late grandmother.

In an interview with Glamour UK in 2023, she spoke about her ‘dream’ of having a baby.
‘I wanted to be the woman that my mum is to me, and I wanted to be the woman that my grandmother was to me,’ she explained.
In March, Brown opened up in an interview on the Smartless podcast about wanting to start a family with Bongiovi, saying: ‘It is definitely in our future’.
While acknowledging that she was still ‘really young’, she added: ‘My mom actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19.
‘I really want a family. I really want a big family. I’m one of four. [Bongiovi] is one of four.’
She also touched on the idea of adopting, telling the podcast hosts: ‘I don’t see having your own child, you know, as really any different [from] adopting.
‘For me, like, my home is full of love for anyone and anything, and so that is what we stand by, Jake and I — our energy in the house is like, “The door is always open”.’
She also touched on the role her grandmother played in her life and her desire to be a mother.

‘Jake knows how important it is to me and, of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it’s so important to start a family for me personally.
‘It’s a huge thing. Jake was like, “we cannot do that until we get married”. So that was his thing.’
Those comments came a few weeks after she opened up to Vanity Fair in February about how she and Bongiovi, whom she met through mutual friends, were ‘pretty united’ on major topics before their marriage.
‘We talked about our political views, what kind of family we want to build, the kind of home we want to live in, the kind of relationship we’re looking for, the kind of careers we want,’ she said.
Brown and Bongiovi first started dating in 2021 and announced their engagement in April 2023.
The couple secretly tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Italy in May last year.
