Shania Twain is ringing in her 60th birthday with all the confidence, style, and cheek her fans have come to adore.
The country-pop legend, famous for hits like That Don’t Impress Me Much and Man! I Feel Like a Woman!, took to Instagram Thursday to celebrate the milestone and reflect on her journey from unknown performer to global superstar.
‘Happy birthday to me! How can I be 60? So glad to have kept some photos from this time in the 80s when I had no idea what was ahead of me and Shania f—ing Twain didn’t exist yet ,” Twain wrote, pairing the caption with a dramatic before-and-now post.
The first image captured a young Shania backstage in the 1980s, dazzling in a sparkling electric blue suit and rocking a classic big-80s hairdo, her grin lighting up the dressing room.
The second, more daring shot, showed Twain in nothing but a crisp white Oxford shirt and black underwear, striking a confident, sultry pose with one hand raised above her head.
Lyrics from her Man! I Feel Like a Woman! adorned the background: ‘No inhibitions, Make no conditions get a little outta line.’

Alongside the photos, Twain added a heartfelt note about gratitude.
‘I can’t begin to explain how grateful I am for the life that I have. For my family, friends, fans, and the inspiration I get from all of you I’ve tried to stay true to myself along the way and that’s my intention moving forward into the next chapter.’
The country-pop icon isn’t new to turning heads.
Back in 2022, she set the internet on fire with a bold photoshoot for her album Queen of Me, posing naked and smeared with mud.
‘I didn’t do it when I was younger so I’m going to do it now,’ Twain told TalkShopLive at the time.
‘I’m going to feel and show that I feel comfortable in my own skin.’
She reflected on her earlier insecurities, admitting she was once ‘one of those teenagers that would never wear a bikini at the beach, for example.’
‘The shoot took courage because I am so not an exhibitionist. But it wasn’t—it was all about my own message to myself, and just saying, you know, it’s just time to feel comfortable in my own skin and share that with other people and just share those insecurities, shed that skin of insecurity,’ she explained.

The daring birthday snap comes shortly after Twain shared the surprisingly simple tricks she uses to keep her skin looking youthful.
Her first tip is the most basic of all, per US Weekly: ‘I try to drink as much water as I can.’
For her second secret, Twain sticks to natural exfoliation: ‘I have always exfoliated. I don’t actually buy an exfoliator; I just make it. If I’m somewhere near the beach, I’ll use sand.’
She also revealed her third and fourth favorites: ‘I believe in old-fashioned things, like a bit of Vaseline. I always thought Bag Balm was the best of all things.’
And while most of her skincare relies on affordable items, Twain admitted she does indulge in one luxury product.
‘The cosmetic one that’s been a staple for me is Crème de la Mer.’
This past January, Twain turned heads once again while taking a beach stroll in Tulum, Mexico, showing off a look that was both completely refreshed and effortlessly youthful.
She was spotted with her husband, Frédéric Thiébaud, whom she tied the knot with in 2011, just six months after finalizing her divorce from Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange.
The road to her second marriage wasn’t easy.
Twain and Lange split in 2008 after she discovered he had been having an affair with Marie-Anne Thiébaud, Frédéric’s then-wife — a scandal that made headlines around the world.
