Fans demand ‘116th charge’ for Man City after spotting what Pep Guardiola wore for Real Madrid clash

FANS have demanded a ‘116th charge’ to Manchester City after seeing Pep Guardiola’s outfit for the match against Real Madrid.

The Cityzens crashed out of the Champions League in the round of 16 as Real got the better of them in each leg.

Real cruised to a 3-0 win in Spain last week and followed that up with a 2-1 victory at the Etihad Stadium.

But for some fans the biggest disappointment was Guardiola‘s outfit on the sideline.

The Spanish manager wore smart trousers and shoes but paired with a relaxed-fitting flannel shirt.

It was a stark contrast to the smart black bomber jacket that he wore for the first leg.

Reacting on social media, fans have demanded that the Premier League step in and add another charge to the club.

One joked: “116 now.”

A second wrote: “I knew they weren’t serious when I seen Pep was wearing a flannel shirt.”

A third commented: “Pep’s overshirt just a complete disgrace, isn’t it.”

A fourth added: “I saw Pep’s outfit tonight and I knew there was no comeback there, just humiliation.”

However, one fan was actually in favour of the more casual attire.

They said: “Knock a charge off. It’s lovely.”

City were slapped with the alleged 130 charges for breaches of Financial Fair Play by the Prem in February 2024.

It became known as the “115 charges” case due to the number of bullet points in the original documents.

Despite charges being brought forward over TWO YEARS ago there has still been no final verdict.

LaLiga chief Javier Tebas has claimed that the delayed ordeal has “damaged” the Prem.

The relaxed-dressed Guardiola was unable to inspire his side to a shock win over Los Blancos.

Hopes of a comeback were crushed in the 20th minute as Bernardo Silva was sent off for a handball on the goalline.

Vinicius Jr converted the resulting penalty to put Real four goals ahead on aggregate.

Erling Haaland did find the back of the net before half-time to restore the gap to just three.

A stubborn Thibaut Courtois thwarted City on multiple occasions to ensure Real would proceed to the quarter-finals.

The LaLiga giants put some shine on the result as Vinicius made it a brace for himself late in stoppage time.

Speaking after the game, Guardiola – still wearing the shirt – lamented the red card for Silva.

Speaking on Amazon Prime, he said: “It’s difficult once you are 4-0 down and playing 10 men against 11. But we did everything.

“We have an extraordinary team and an extraordinary group of players. The future is bright.

“It’s a little bit of a learning. But it should have been 11 against 11. But we never know. Maybe we lose 6-0 but it’s a fact.

“[Thibaut] Courtois is a fantastic keeper. First 15-20 minutes was good but after that it was 10 against 11 and it was difficult.

“In the end, Courtois was the best player on the pitch, so that means how good we were. The feeling is that give me the chance to play 11 against 11.”
