SIR ALEX FERGUSON attended Manchester United’s clash with Chelsea alongside old pal Sam Allardyce.
The duo enjoyed many clashes during their respective Premier League careers.
In retirement, they have remained good friends.
Engrossed in the action, the pair could be seen discussing the game during the first half.
Ferguson, 83, will have loved what he was seeing as his old side got off to a dream start.
Less than five minutes into the contest, Bryan Mbeumo skipped past Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
The Spaniard subsequently booted the United forward to the turf and was deservedly shown a red card.
Boss Enzo Maresca immediately made two substitutions, replacing Pedro Neto and Estevao with Filip Jorgensen and Tosin Adarabioyo.
Despite the Blues’ changes, United took the lead on 14 minutes via skipper Bruno Fernandes.
This is not the first time that Ferguson has been spotted in the Old Trafford posh seats alongside Allardyce.
The pair also attended Man Utd’s clash with Luton in November 2023 together.
