The chilling attack was launched outside her home, in Thorpe St Andrew, Norwich.

Emergency services were called to the scene, in Catherine Gardens, after concerned neighbours raised the alarm.

He has now been charged with murder in connection with the horror, and remains in custody.

Tania’s heartbroken family have paid tribute in an emotional statement.

“My mother Tania was a woman of great faith- believing in Christ; she was also a woman who was passionate about her four children,” they said.

“Tania was undoubtedly beautiful, she was honest, but mostly was always giving to others, the list about her bubbly personality truly goes on.

“Our family wants to continue to honour her and her generous nature even in her passing, which stems from deep-rooted faith and kindness.

“Even though her life was cut short, she still lived a full life, leaving many beautiful memories with her children and family behind.

“Her children want to keep their memories of her alive by honouring her passions and fulfilling any dreams she didn’t get to do here on Earth.”

One neighbour also remembered the mum as a “bubbly person”.

Mrs Drake said: “She was so lovely. I can’t believe it’s happened. It doesn’t feel real.”

Tributes have flooded in and flowers have been left outside Tania’s home.

Meanwhile the Parish Church of Thorpe St Andrew has offered its condolences to Tania.

In a post on Facebook they said: “Our deep thoughts and prayers are very much with all the family of Tania Williams following her tragic death Saturday night, praying God’s blessing on them.

“On hearing the news our Rector travelled on the next train back from the south of England and on his return the St Andrew’s flag was lowered to half mast.

“A large candle has been lit and placed in church as we remember the light that the darkness cannot overcome and the resurrection to which Tania has gone.

“She was a true evangelist of the gospel, encouraging and bringing others to faith with her uniquely colourful, kind and joyful persona. She was herself formally confirmed within the Church of England last Easter.

“May she rest in peace and rise in glory.”

Williams appeared via video link at Norwich Crown Court on Thursday.

He will next appear to enter a plea on February 27 and a trial date has been set at Norwich Crown Court for July 20 2026.

Det Supt Stacey Murray of Norfolk Police, who is leading the investigation, said at the time: “We are in the early stages of this investigation working to establish the sequence of events which led to the woman’s death.

“However, we do believe this to be an incident in which both parties were known to each other.

“We would urge anyone with information that could help the investigation, whether it concerns the incident itself or the events leading up to it, to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is urged to visit the Norfolk Police website or call 101 and quote incident reference 559 of January 17.
