A British tourist is fighting for his life after he was attacked at a Greek nightclub, local media reports.
The 19-year-old is said to have been savagely punched by a fellow Brit, 24, in the nightlife capital of Rhodes before falling to the ground and maiming his head.
The young man, covered in blood, managed to find a private health clinic in the town of Faliraki on Monday afternoon but was unable to explain how he had been attacked.
Doctors at the Euromedica clinic immediately intubated him and he was rushed to the General Hospital of Rhodes where he had surgery for internal bleeding on the brain.
The 19-year-old continues to be in critical condition and is unable to communicate or provide a statement on the attack, Greek media reports.
Medics reported the incident and police pieced together from videos and witness testimonies his alleged attacker.
They arrested the tourist in his room at a well-known hotel the same night.
It is said the 24-year-old admitted to attacking the other Brit and a case has been opened for serious intentional bodily harm.
