Parents have reported issues with the supermarket’s popular fridge set, which retails for £19.99, this Christmas season.

Taking to the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, one mum shared the trouble she had with her child’s new Aldi toy.

“Has anyone got the Aldi fridge? We put it together on Christmas Eve and the door keeps falling off, has anyone else had [this] problem?” she asked.

The poster included two images, one of the fridge without the door and another of the door she was struggling to keep attached.

Her fellow Facebook users chimed in, reported similar issues with the popular toy.

“I have seen on TikTok that lots of people have the same issue,” wrote one commenter.

“We did! We glued it on and it hasn’t come off since! Get some Gorilla Glue or something,” another parent suggested.

“Yep, we had the same issue. We glued it on. No problem since,” wrote a third person.

“We got this, ended up getting binned, tried everything to put the door on but would just fall off and didn’t have [a] receipt to return it,” said another parent.

“We have the washer, cooker, and shop [from Aldi] and they are all fine.”

“Yep, exact same issue with ours, seems alot of them are like this,” added another Facebook user.

“Ours fell off [on] Christmas Day, we shut the door and the bottom was hanging off, then the top was hanging off – they’ve been taken off now and it’s now an open pantry,” said one mum.

“We loosened the hinges as they were far too stiff for the little screws and [it] works fab now,” advised another parent.

An Aldi spokesperson spoke to The Sun about the reported issue with the fridge toy.

“We’re sorry that on this occasion, the customer felt this product did not meet our usual high standards,” they said.

“Anyone not entirely happy with their purchase can return the product to any store for a full refund.”
