NICOLA McLean has taken a surprising swipe at one of her jungle co-stars after her appearance on I’m A Celebrity.
The former glamour model, 44, appeared on ITV’s eighth series back in 2008 and has reminisced about the ordeal on Instagram.
Joe Swash won that year’s season, with former professional tennis player Martina Navratilova coming in second place.
“I wouldn’t have picked Joe as my winner,” Nicola told her 248,000 followers.
“To be honest, I think he was an obvious winner.
“I think we all knew he was going to win from the start.”
The personality, who has also appeared on Big Brother, continued to take aim, also highlighting a secret camp feud.
“I found it really frustrating when he used to get involved in me and David [Van Day’s] arguments,” she added.
“You know, David would stir the pot and then not expect me to react, and then when I did react, Joe wouldn’t like it, because he doesn’t like conflict.
“It’s like, it was annoying. He was great. I really like him, but I would have preferred Martina Navratilova to win.
“She is a legend, and was epic in there, but I wasn’t the voting public. So it is what it is,” the reality TV star concluded.
Nicola was running a Q&A session with her fans on Instagram after last night’s brand-new series kicked off on ITV.
Revealing a funny behind-the-scenes moment, she explained, “I’ve got two I think, like from memory, it was a long time ago.
“So one night, Joe Swash, me and Simon Webb was up later than everyone else.
“I think they’d given us an extra drink, and Joe went into the bus, which is where he was sleeping with George Takei from Star Trek.
“He’d seen a spider, so he got a glove, what he thought was like a cup of water, and threw it out the bus to trap the spider.
“But it was George’s false teeth. Then we had to try and find the false teeth that was f***ing brilliant.
“And then another one, Joe Swash as well. Timmy Mallet had got a beer and decided to save it for the next day.
“Me and Joe were like, absolutely not, opened the beer and downed it together. And then Joe felt really guilty, and it was quite funny.”
The new series started on Sunday with an all-new group of famous faces, including stars like Ruby Wax, Martin Kemp and Angry Ginge.
All of the celebrities were forced into Bushtucker Trials last night, from helicopter jumps to a ride in the Cockie Van.
YouTube star Ginge and presenter Ruby were named by Ant and Dec at the end of Sunday’s instalment for the next trial.
