Ed wrote a great piece about the “leak” of the Biden-Hur tapes to POLITICO and all the breathless stories about how Biden really WAS a rambling, senile mess as the Special Counsel questioned him.
As I peruse X on my morning stroll through the modern information hellscape, I keep coming across people pretending to be shocked at how bad Biden sounds, or others pointing triumphantly and saying, “I told you so!”
I sympathize with the latter, obviously, because this is one more bit of evidence that Americans have been subjected to a years-long psychological operation that successfully brainwashed half the country into believing a mostly-dead president was spry as a teenager and as sharp as Richard Feynman was at his height.

The scale of the psyop is hardly unprecedented. Compared to the efforts to slime Donald Trump since 2016, it ranks slightly lower in effort, actually, since it was pretty easy to keep Biden out of the public eye and hide much of the evidence, while maintaining the fiction that Trump is Hitlerian is hampered by the fact that the real Donald Trump is everywhere all the time.
Everything is bigger with Trump, even the psyops against him.
Now that we audio from the infamous Hur Report, it’s clear as day that the Democratic Party covered-up of the greatest political scandal in modern American history.

But still, the effort required to “prove” that the President of the United States is not actually senile was herculean, requiring the cooperation of everybody in the transnational elite. Pravda Media, world leaders, business leaders, celebrities of all stripes had to cooperate for years, lying about Biden and slandering everybody who told the truth.

Every Democrat turned on Dean Philips when he bravely stood up and said, tamely, that Biden might be a touch too old to run for president. And, of course, everybody slandered Robert Hur when he DECLINED to prosecute President Biden due to his poor memory.

To the extent that the perpetrators of this psychological operation are responding to the latest revelations, their response is that “We didn’t know” until the June debate, so they can’t be held responsible for any coverup. Even if they were enthusiastically slandering everybody who was telling the truth back then, they should be forgiven because, well…they are the good guys.

The thing is, though, that as with the story of the King who had no clothes, everybody knew back then–even the people who bought into the psy-op–and nobody is genuinely shocked by the Biden-Hur tapes now.
Every person who is pretending to be appalled by how bad Biden sounds in those tapes pretty much knew that he would sound just as rambling and senile as he, in fact, does. That is why nobody said “Boo” when Merrick Garland broke the law by refusing a subpoena to turn over the tapes–committing a crime for which he had recently put Steve Bannon in jail.

Every Democrat who scrambled to justify this knew why it was vital to suppress the evidence. And every partisan Democrat who defended Garland as a brave nonpartisan soldier just doing his job was fully aware of what they would reveal. They just didn’t want to be confronted with the incontrovertible evidence.
They wanted to believe the king was dressed in finery, so they pretended.

The point of these psychological operations is not so much to fool people into believing things that are false–who actually believes that Donald Trump or Elon Musk is a Nazi? Or that Trump was a Russian asset for decades? Or that Biden was “sharp as a tack?”
Nobody. Not one damn person.
The point is to give people permission to say these things and create a sufficiently plausible illusion that they can maintain their allegiance to their tribe, and having the entire Establishment repeat lies ever more confidently is a powerful tool to give Democrats permission to pretend that the reality before their eyes is an illusion.
Nobody believed that the BLM protests were “peaceful.” Nobody believed that sitting in a restaurant was dangerous but mass protests in the streets were necessary to “public health.” And nobody actually believes that the 2016 election was stolen from Hillary but the 2020 election was the cleanest in American history.
And nobody believed that Biden was “sharp as a tack.”
It’s all pretend. Everybody knew the king had no clothes. They just didn’t want to face the reality, and the designated liars like Adam Schiff, Jamie Raskin, Jake Tapper, Joe Scarborough, and all the rest gave permission to ordinary Democrats to repeat the lies and even get furious at the people who told the truth.
I sometimes refer to the media-generated “reality” as the “Truman Show,” in which the world is carefully constructed to create an illusion. But that is not quite right. When the main character, Truman Burbank, discovers that his world is an illusion he escapes into the messy reality because he refuses to live in an illusion.
Today’s Democrats love that illusion, and pretend not to see that it is all fake.
They know it is a lie. They just like it.
