EVERTON are reportedly confident about landing Jack Grealish on a permanent deal from Manchester City – but they want a sensational discount.
The England winger, 30, joined the Toffees on a season-long loan last summer.
Grealish became a firm fan favourite at Hill Dickinson Stadium before foot surgery ended his campaign.
And Everton chief David Moyes is desperate to keep the talisman on Merseyside by negotiating a long-term deal.
The Daily Mail report the Toffees are increasingly confident of signing Grealish permanently.
But Everton want to slash a whopping £30million off the initially agreed £50m option to buy him.
Although Grealish’s £300,000-a-week wages are threatening to be a serious stumbling block, there is optimism that he wants to stay on board.
He chose to remain on Merseyside for a long period of rehabilitation after going under the knife in February.
And influential figures behind the scenes are adamant it is a sign that Grealish is keen to extend his Everton career.
The former Aston Villa skipper is a popular member of the dressing room and has thrown himself into the club’s community events.

Grealish notched two goals and six assists across 22 appearances in all competitions before his season was brought to a cruel end.
The three-time Premier League title winner headed to Everton after being frozen out by Man City boss Pep Guardiola.
Grealish found himself behind the likes of Jeremy Doku, Savinho and Phil Foden in the pecking order.
And Man City’s decision to snap up Antoine Semenyo for £62.5m in January means he would still face the prospect of limited action if he tried to reignite his Etihad Stadium career.
Everton, who are chasing European qualification in the final weeks of the season, are next in action at Brentford on April 11.
