Eurostar trains hit by delays as bridge fire near major station sparks Easter getaway trouble – The Sun

EUROSTAR services have been delayed after a fire on the tracks sparked Easter getaway chaos.

Trains are currently unable to run between Ebbsfleet and Ashford following the incident near Ebbsfleet International.

A spokesperson added: “Replacement buses are on the way to Ebbsfleet International and Ashford.

“The first bus is expected at Ashford at 18.20, then 18.45, and the first at Ebbsfleet at 18.45.

“Alternatively, you can travel between Ebbsfleet and Ashford via Ramsgate on trains via Faversham.

“The 5.10pm train from London St Pancras to Canterbury West was delayed “by a fire next to the track”

The 8.01pm train from London St Pancras to Paris Gare du Nord, which was due to arrive at 11.26pm has been scrapped.

A notice on the Eurostar website read: “Due to a fire near the tracks, your train is cancelled.”

Alternative routes include the London Underground between St Pancras, Stratford and London Bridge and Charing Cross and Thameslink between St Pancras and London Bridge.
