During that historic episode, Graham who was presumed dead, was revealed to be alive and later returned to the Dales

Jodie would go on to be reunited with her sister Shona on the cobbles, and had told her sister the reason she came to Weatherfield was because she was running away from an abusive ex.

The truth was that Jodie was actually a part of a dangerous gang and was part of the reason she was tied up in Graham’s van.

Graham answered the question of his connection to Jodie on Sunday’s episode of Emmerdale.

The answer unfolded during the episode when vet Rhona Goskirk found Graham unconscious and covered in blood on a bale of hay in the horse stables.

As Rhona tried to help him, Graham woke up and in a panic tried to get her away from the scene, asking if his attackers were still there.

Rhona kept pressing Graham for more information about the attack and he finally relented to say the assault was a “punishment” from the gang for letting Jodie escape.

“You remember that problem I was hired to get rid of? I told you when I first saw you,” he told Rhona.

“That problem was named Jodie. This is my punishment for letting her escape then terminating my contract.”

The crossover event between ITV soaps Emmerdale and Coronation Street featured a huge stunt in an hour-long special where two characters died.

One of the major shocks in that crossover episode was that Graham had come back from the dead.

Graham famously died in Emmerdale in 2020 when he was murdered by Pierce Harris, his body left to rot in woodland in a huge whodunnit mystery.

However, it was then confirmed that in fact he faked his death and has been working as a hitman for hire ever since.

Played by actor Andrew Scarborough, The Sun revealed how Graham’s Emmerdale return was a year in the making.

We told how Graham’s big return to the Dales was shrouded in secrecy with bosses going to extreme lengths to keep it quiet.

A source told The Sun: “This was the biggest soap surprise in years and one that no-one saw coming so nothing was deemed too extreme to keep it a return.

“All the usual things happened with fake names in the scripts and closed sets but for this one poor Andrew wasn’t even allowed to go into the canteen in case he was spotted.”
