EMMERDALE actor Dean Andrews has sparked concern after revealing he’s undergone a secret surgery.
The ITV star, who plays Will Taylor on the soap, admitted he’d had eye surgery, prompting his fans to express their worries for him.
He took to Instagram to share a picture of himself sitting in a car with eye patches bandaged to his face.
Dean captioned the post: “Eye surgery went ok thankfully.”
His followers flocked to the comments section to share their concerns as well as to wish him a speedy recovery.
One person penned: “Glad it’s gone well,” to which he responded: “We’ll find out on Tuesday.”
Another Instagram user expressed: “Glad to hear your happy with your op. Take care of yourself.”
Somebody else said: “Hope the healing goes well, I know my sister found it difficult but was totally worth it.”
Yet another commented: “Wishing you a good recovery. Hope everything went ok. Much love to you.”
While a fifth added: “I had laser eye surgery and wore those eye shields!! Eyes seem to heal real quick thankfully. Good luck.”
This isn’t Dean’s only surgery in recent years, having undergone a procedure in February last year.
He posted a photo of himself on Instagram post-surgery and told fans he was “happy to have woken up”.
Dean captioned it: “Surgery went well. Very happy to have woken up. Many thanks to my surgeon Chris and all the staff.”
He didn’t given any other details as to why he was in hospital or what the surgery was for, but was inundated with support.
The actor played the role of Will Taylor on Emmerdale for five years before being brutally axed in tense scenes for Christmas Day last year when he was killed off following a heart attack.
Viewers watched as Will’s scheme against wife Kim Tate was exposed by the man secretly pulling his strings – Joe Tate.
But as Will tried to insist that he’d stopped his plan and really did love Kim, it all became too much and he collapsed with chest pains.
However in a tragic twist, Kim didn’t believe him and waited too long to try to save him, ultimately watching him die.
Joe lied for Kim and claimed she had immediately called for help, putting her in his debt while hiding his own dark secret.
Prior to his exit, Dean admitted that bosses would need to axe him for him to leave.
He previously told The Sun: “I feel very settled.
“With other stuff that we do [other acting jobs] we’re there for three to five months or whatever, and then we all disappear and we all go and do other stuff and then we come back.
“But here it really, I remember before I came in and hearing people say it’s like a family at Emmerdale and thinking blah, blah, blah, but it really is.
“Because we are together. I definitely see Claire more than I see my own wife, and Olivia more than I see my own daughters so we are like a little family.
“I do feel settled here. When the producers initially asked me to come in and asked me how long I’d like to stay and I said: ‘If I come in now, you’ll have to kick me out’.”
