AN EMMERDALE star has reunited with his on-screen soap wife after landing a massive role on Broadway.
The actor, 67, was brutally axed by show bosses two years ago before an emotional exit which saw him break down in tears.
Bhasker Patel was sensationally dropped from the long-running ITV show after 12 years, back in 2023.
The star joined the soap as Rishi, the head of the then new Sharma family, in 2011.
His stint came to an end after his character died alone after missing his son Jai’s wedding – falling down the stairs.
Bhasker’s on-screen wife was actress Rebecca Sarker who plays Dr Manpreet Sharma.
Rebecca jetted off to New York City to reunite with her fellow co-star after watching him perform in the hit Broadway play Oedipus at Studio 54.
The actor began his Broadway debut earlier this month.
The production stars actors Mark Strong and Lesley Manville with Bhasker playing the role of Corin.
Rebecca stood beaming ear to ear next to Bhasker who now sports a full grey beard worlds away from the clean shaven look of his soap character Rishi.
She captioned the pic: “What a guy! What a show! What a city! (heart emojis)”
In another pic Rebecca can be seen kissing her co-star on the cheek and snapping the bright lights of the theatre’s marquee.
Bhasker’s role in Emmerdale was brutally cut after he was axed from the show after over a decade revealing that show bosses had a hand in the decision.
Appearing on ITV’s Lorraine following his dramatic exit, the dad-of-three revealed Emmerdale bosses forced his hand in leaving.
Speaking to stand-in host Christine Lampard at the time, he explained: “When the producer rang me and said, ‘I need to talk to you and we’re killing you off because we want a big story and it’s going to be a big surprise.’
“Because my 12 years at ITV, they let me do a lot of other work, so I felt a part of ITV, a part of Rishi, but at the same time… I was working in London as well.
“So when the producer said, ‘We’re going to kill you off’, I was like, ‘Okay, that part of my life with this guy is over and I’m going to move on’.”
Christine then proceeded to read out tributes to his character from devastated fans which got Bhasker emotional.
He wiped away tears as he heard the outpouring of love from viewers for him.
Shortly after he had been axed, he landed a brand new role for the show Leviathan and has since gone on to star in an upcoming sci-fi short film.
