EIGHT men due to be tried today over the Magaluf hotel gang rape of a British teenage tourist they filmed being sexually

EIGHT men tried over the gang-rape of a British teenager in the Spanish town of Magaluf have struck a deal that reduces their time in jail in half.

A young woman, aged 18, was staying at the BH Mallorca Resort when she was repeatedly raped in August 2023, with the horror assault filmed and shared on Snapchat.

Her attackers – seven French nationals and one Swiss – were facing prison time totalling more than 150 years if convicted over the “most repugnant” abuse that investigators had ever witnessed.

Prosecutors said in a pre-trial indictment they were seeking individual jail sentences of between 18 and 20 years for each of the accused, as they laid bare the degrading treatment the victim was subjected to.

Today, at the start of what was expected to be a four-day public hearing, it was confirmed the monsters had agreed to plead guilty in exchange for lesser prison time.

Five men who penetrated the victim accepted jail terms of nine or 11 years for sexual assault.

Magaluf rape suspects ‘got Brit, 18, drunk before inviting strangers to attack’

Brit, 18, ‘attacked by 8 men in Magaluf gang rape who laughed during attack’

Three of them got higher prison sentences for repeating their vile crimes, and for videoing them.

Meanwhile, three men who did not penetrate the teenager, but filmed the gang-rape, were sentenced to two years and three months behind bars.

One of the trio was handed an additional four-year sentence for sexually assaulting the holidaymaker without penetrating her as part of the plea deal.

“They came from about four different groups,” a well-placed insider said today.

“The hotel room where the sexual assaults took place was occupied by two friends but they didn’t know the others involved.

“It was almost a case of them opening the door and inviting others who were passing by in the corridor to join in.

“If the men hadn’t filmed what they’d done they could have got off scot-free.”

Another source said that without the plea bargain deal, many of these men could have spent the rest of their lives in prison.

Details about the harrowing attack first emerged shortly after the woman was discovered crying on the street by hotel staff.

She was taken to Son Espases Hospital in Palma de Mallorca, where she was treated before registering her rape complaint.

Reports at the time said three of the suspects met the teenager hours earlier while partying in Magaluf.

After “sexually attacking” her, one had allegedly gone out to encourage strangers returning from their own night out to have “free sex” with her.

A 14-page indictment laying out the public prosecution case: “There, the accused men, during approximately half an hour, aware of the semi-conscious state the young woman was in and at one point seeing she had fallen in a state of unconsciousness, and taking advantage of the closed room she had been taken into, stripped her naked leaving her with only her bra on.

“They then carried out different sexual acts on her, acting by common consent and without her consent.”

The indictment went on to detail how the woman was raped in all manner of ways, spat on, as well as “hit and smacked” as the gang of men shouted insults at her.

“The accused men, each one with a mobile phone, throughout the actions previously described, recorded several videos focusing on the young woman’s private parts in which they appeared forcing her to to carry out sexual acts,” it added.

One of the suspects was accused of filming 14 videos lasting 170 seconds, and another of filming five videos lasting 142 seconds.

Each of the men was identified as primary authors of rape or accomplices who knowingly, voluntarily and with common intent united with the principal offender in the commission of the sex crime.
