READING could be on the lookout for a new OWNER.
Reading FC and chairman Rob Couhig, 76, has admitted he may walk away from the club as he is actively entertaining offers.

The Royals chief was forced into a hip replacement earlier this year after a New Year’s Eve mishap left him needing surgery.
And he said the “little setback” delivered a “sharp” reminder he can’t keep doing 20-hour flights to Berkshire forever.
But it’s not as if him and co-owner Todd Trosclair – who ended the reign of Dai Yongge’s controversial ownership in May 2025 – haven’t been putting in the cash.
After a hectic January window, Couhig revealed to the Reading Chronicle that they have already been plugging a £1 million-a-month hole to keep Reading on track.
Reading have faced huge financial hurdles from transfer embargoes, spending restrictions and even a winding-up petition from HMRC in late 2025.
But the Royals have 12 games left of the season – and they’re two points away from the play-off spots in eighth.
And Couhig’s phone has been ringing off the hook from interested buyers and investors.
A new long-term partnership with cybersecurity company Barracuda has brought hope in the last few weeks too.

Couhig – former owner of Wycombe Wanderers – has put it down to the club’s current position and that it has become an asset.
When pitched by the Chronicle whether he would rather keep or sell, he said: “Both. I want to own the club because I enjoy it.”
And after the chaos, the Royals are finally in their strongest financial shape for years – helped by new investment, commercial deals and results on the pitch.
Couhig added: “The days I don’t want to own the club is when I’m getting off the plane, having flown for 20 hours and I’m thinking what can I do?
“The little setback with my hip brought in the sharp reality of the fact that I’m 76 years old.
“Am I going to want to commute here for the next 10 years? Probably not.
“Am I willing to do it for the next five years where we bring this club to where we can be? Probably.
“On the other hand, you know, some guy knocks at your door, what are you supposed to say?”
