The countdown to Black Friday is on, with the shopping extravaganza now just hours away.

Today’s best Next deals
While it looks like Next won’t be taking part in the annual sale event – following its form for the past few years – there are still great deals to be had on the retailer’s website.
Seek out the clearance section and you’ll find price cuts across departments, including women, men, kids and home.
Many of the discounts are substantial and there’s even reductions on seasonal lines.
And while you won’t see sale items labelled as Black Friday, a bargain is a bargain, no matter what its name.
Historically, Next saves its biggest reductions for after Christmas with its Boxing Day sale, so November is usually quieter on the offers front.

Does Next do a Black Friday sale?
Next hasn’t taken part in Black Friday since 2020, and that looks unlikely to change this year.
Like several other high street retailers, such as M&S and Primark, which also eschew the shopping frenzy, Next does not get involved.
Instead, it throws its energies into the post-Christmas sale that always starts on Boxing Day – usually to long queues outside the doors of its 500+ stores.
The retailer offers limited-time discounts on selected products throughout the year and usually hosts a summer sale across all departments.
We will let you know immediately if Next decides to take part in Black Friday, and we will bring you the best bargains as they happen.
Does Next offer Blue Light or a student discount?
At this moment in time, Next does not appear to offer Blue Light discounts.
The Blue Light Card offers savings to NHS staff, carers, emergency services, teachers, and members of the community armed forces across the country.
These are in the form of special offers and discounts.
There are no discounts for college and university students either.
Is Cyber Monday cheaper than Black Friday?
Generally speaking, you’re going to get the best Black Friday deals on the day itself, and popular products with the biggest price cuts sell out fast.
When is Cyber Monday? The follow-up shopping event this year takes place on 1 December. It was originally dedicated to online shopping, though it now covers both online and offline deals.
So retailers usually offer discounts across the entire weekend, starting from Black Friday into Cyber Monday.
That said, you may find special offers launched specifically for that day, which could be cheaper, but it’s a gamble.
The big risk you take by waiting is that the item you’re after sells out.
