Eamonn Holmes, 65, whisks leggy girlfriend Katie Alexander, 43, and her children on ‘luxurious Greek getaway’ following couple’s ‘rocky patch’ – as his sons side with ex Ruth Langford

Eamonn Holmes and girlfriend Katie Alexander were spotted at Heathrow Airport on Saturday as they prepared to jet off on a ‘luxurious Greek getaway’. 

The GB news host, 65, and the leggy blonde, 43, were joined by her three grown up children for the sun-soaked trip following the couple’s reported ‘rocky patch’ as two of his sons side with ex Ruth Langford.

Eamonn, who uses a motorised wheelchair due to ongoing back problems, cut a causal figure in a pin striped shirt and dark trousers as he arrived at the airport.

While he wrapped up in a sports jacket, marriage counsellor Katie appeared ready for the sunshine in a leggy black mini skirt and tight white vest.

Completing the summery look with a tan blazer she cinched her waist with a chunky belt and carried a panama hat.

Amid his strained relationship with his sons, a source told The Sun: ‘It was [Eamonn and Katie’s] first rocky patch but there’s nothing a holiday can’t fix’.

It comes after MailOnline exclusively revealed that he broadcaster and father of four had had a terrible fall-out with Niall, 32, the youngest of his three children with first wife Gabrielle. And more devastatingly, Niall has sided with his stepmother Ruth over his own father, following the couple’s split.

Ruth and Eamonn announced a year ago that they were to part after 27 years as a couple, and 14 years of marriage, and now it seems this most toxic of divorces is set to get far worse. As one source revealed: ‘It’s fair to say that things between Eamonn and Ruth are at the pretty ugly stage now.’

It’s also understood that Jack, 23, the son he and Ruth have together, has sided with his mother. Before announcing the split, Ruth set Jack up in a flat in Salford. A source said: ‘Things remain strained between him and his father.’ 

It has been reported Eamonn and Katie were first in touch 12 years ago, when it’s claimed they exchanged flirty messages. It’s suggested that, in the year before their split, Ruth learned Eamonn had been showering Katie with gifts. 

But both Eamonn and Katie, who was also married, insist nothing went on until both their marriages ended. The fact they are still together is said to have ‘gone down like a lead balloon’ with Eamonn’s family. 

Eamonn is also father to son Declan, 36, and daughter Rebecca, 34, from his first marriage with whom he is still believed to be close.

Eamonn is said to be now ‘determined’ to get his finances back in order, and is ‘dragging his feet’ in his divorce. 

This is in stark contrast to Ruth, who is thought to be desperate to finalise her split from Eamonn, having sought advice from lawyers to keep their £3.6million six-bedroom home in Surrey.

A source told The Sun: ‘Katie’s been a rock to Eamonn throughout his ongoing divorce Eamonn’s health is always a big concern and after a few tax blows lately, he is more determined than ever to get his finances back in order.’

‘Eamonn feels hard done by in the divorce. He’s dragging his feet because Ruth’s got the house and they have a lot of other financials still to sort out between them.

‘Eamonn knows his mobility issues are a worry. He needs a carer to help him get ready for work and that’s expensive.’

The insider added that Eamonn ‘doesn’t want to lose’ Katie, and is keen to give her the ‘kind of lifestyle she deserves.’

Last month, Eamonn removed his wedding ring, over a year since his spilt from Ruth.

The TV couple shocked fans with their joint statement on May 25 2024 confirming the end of their 14 year marriage.

And while Eamonn has embarked on a new relationship, he had continued to wear his gold band on his wedding finger. 

However, as he hosted a recent edition of GB News alongside co-star Ellie Costello, his ring was noticeably absent from his hand.

While the presenter publicly ditched his jewellery for the on-air appearance, MailOnline understands that Eamonn does occasionally remove his ring.
