Eagle-eyed fans spot two Premier League stars sharing IDENTICAL farewell message after making late transfers

TWO Premier League stars found themselves at the centre of a social media frenzy after fans noticed they uploaded identical farewell messages on social media.

Fabio Silva uploaded a heartfelt message to Wolves fans last Friday after his move to Borussia Dortmund was confirmed.

However, the message has been viewed in a different light since a direct copy of it was uploaded by another football star.

Christantus Uche uploaded an identical farewell to his fans on Monday after confirmation of his move from Getafe to Crystal Palace.

It did not take fans long to draw comparisons between the two statements.

The sign-off dragged both messages into question, and put an asterisk next to what should have been a genuine and touching goodbye.

The public’s reaction has produced a mix of condemnations, defences of the players and theories as to how the mix-up occurred.

One popular theory is that the players used the same ghostwriter.

One X user posted: “Not everybody has the ability to write a message that long, most footballers use ghostwriters this isn’t new.”

Another user added: “Did the one copy the other, or a lazy ghostwriter is to blame for this — by giving the same thing to two individuals?”

Another possibility is both writers were given the same template after using AI to help them generate a message.

A third X user said: “Imagine writing farewell messages with Chatgpt, This is so sad, footballers no longer bid farewell to there clubs with true emotions anymore. Embarrassing.”

Silva was the first to comment on the blossoming controversy, uploading an Instagram story appearing to show him sending the statement to someone as early as the 22nd of August.

Whether fans choose to believe Silva’s version of events or not, being the latter of the parties to post the message has put Uche most in the crosshairs of those looking for an explanation.

However the incident came about, it has somewhat soured two seemingly heartfelt goodbyes with uncertainty and paranoia, and feels like a reminder to some of the increasingly corporate nature of the game.
