Dua Lipa dumps manager who tried to get Kneecap barred from Glastonbury in anti-Semitism storm

Dua Lipa has dumped her Jewish manager after he campaigned to stop controversial rappers Kneecap performing at Glastonbury, claiming they were fuelling anti-Semitism.

The singer’s long-standing representative David Levy was the first signatory on a letter urging festival founder Michael Eavis and his daughter Emily to drop the pro-Palestinian Belfast rappers, who have been accused of supporting Hezbollah terrorists.

The email, also signed by a number of other leading Jewish music industry figures, was marked ‘private and confidential’ but later leaked, revealing their actions to the acts they represent.

A music industry source told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Dua made sure through her people that David Levy wasn’t working on her music any more. She is very openly pro-Palestine and that doesn’t align with David.

‘She views him as being a supporter of Israel’s war in Gaza, and the terrible treatment of the Palestinians and that was made very clear through the letter that he signed and sent to Michael Eavis.’

They added that she was still with the same talent company, William Morris Endeavor, but represented by a different agent there.

Despite Mr Levy’s protest, Kneecap did perform at Glastonbury.

At the time, one of the group, Liam Og O hAnnaidh – better known as Mo Chara – was on bail charged with a terrorism offence after allegedly displaying a Hezbollah flag at a gig in November last year. His case has been adjourned to the end of this month. Police received complaints about their festival performance but decided to take no further action.

Kosovan-born Ms Lipa, 30, who is engaged to actor Callum Turner, has long been an outspoken supporter of the Palestinian cause. In May 2024, she condemned what she called the ‘Israeli genocide’ in Gaza in an Instagram post to her 88 million followers. She also joined other artists to protest alleged ‘UK complicity in Gaza’.

But she has also condemned Hamas, saying: ‘I feel so bad for every Israeli life lost and what happened on October 7.’

Bristol-based band Massive Attack have also stopped working with Mr Levy over his stance.
