Dream Team managers to activate game-changing Boosters ahead of double Gameweek 13

GAMEWEEK 13 is a special one.

For the first time this season, all 20 Premier League clubs will play twice with a full round of midweek fixtures to follow the usual weekend action.

Nothing is guaranteed but the special nature of Gameweek 13 lends itself to Boosters.

Max Captain is the least viable Booster as most managers will be happy to strap the armband to Erling Haaland (£7.9m) ahead of Manchester City’s games against Leeds and Fulham, 18th and 15th in the table respectively.

However, this favourable double header might encourage you to activate your Goal Bonus Booster (if you haven’t already this season), which increases the value of each goal scored to nine points from six.

Given the Norwegian poacher’s form this season (19 goals in 17 club appearances) it wouldn’t be a surprise if he feasted against two bottom-half opponents.

If your XI is stacked with attacking talent around captain Haaland then the potential returns from Goal Bonus are stratospheric.

Here are some other notable match-ups in Gameweek 13 that lend themselves to such a strategy:

  • Igor Thiago (£4.2m) v Burnley (h)
  • Morgan Rogers (£4.7m) v Wolves (h)
  • Jean-Philippe Mateta (£4.5m) & Ismaila Sarr (£4.6m) v Burnley (a)
  • Enzo Fernandez (£4.6m) & Estevao (£4m) v Leeds (a)
  • Bukayo Saka (£6.7m) & Eberechi Eze (£4.9m) v Brentford (h)
  • Harvey Barnes (£4.3m) v Tottenham (h)
  • Bryan Mbeumo (£5.9m) v West Ham (h)
  • Phil Foden (£5.2m) v Leeds (h)

On paper, Liverpool’s double header against West Ham and Sunderland is appealing too but Arne Slot’s troops are not in a good place right now.

There is no blanket rule when it comes to Boosters as it depends on each specific manager but there will be a lot of teams well suited to Goal Bonus this coming Gameweek.

Alternatively, you may feel now is a good time to select a 12th Man.

If you’ve not been able to afford Daniel Munoz (£5.7m), the third top performer at present, then you might want to temporarily recruit him for free ahead of his meetings with Manchester United (h) and Burnley (a).

Sunday’s midday kick-off appears more favourable after the Red Devils’ dismal showing against Everton last time out.

Or perhaps you’re keen on another Man City asset to accompany Haaland, such as Foden, Jeremy Doku (£5.2m) or Rayan Cherki (£5.1m)?

Gameweek 13 feels like a important crossroads in the Dream Team calendar.

Activating a Booster might be one way of capitalising on the additional fixtures.
