WAYNE ROONEY has lifted the lid on Michael Carrick as Manchester United’s new interim boss prepares for his first game this weekend.
The former Red Devils midfielder was drafted in as a short-term replacement for Ruben Amorim until the end of the season.

Carrick beat fellow former United players — and gaffers — Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ruud van Nistelrooy to the hot seat.
And he is now preparing for Saturday’s baptism of fire, a crunch derby clash against Manchester City.
Carrick has already drafted in the likes of Steve Holland, Jonathan Woodgate and Jonny Evans to assist him on the sideline.
Another name who had been mentioned in the build-up to Carrick’s appointment was Rooney.
The pair know each other well after starring together for United and England.
Wazza ultimately did not get the call to join his former teammate at Old Trafford.
But he is now revealed what the real Carrick is like as United fans brace themselves for action tomorrow.
Speaking on The Wayne Rooney Show, he said: “It’s probably the obviously choice because I don’t think there are any top, top managers available at the minute.

“I think it is the right choice at this moment in time. It is a difficult task.
“Where United are at the minute is not a good place and Michael has to go in and steady the ship.
“Michael’s great fun, he is a great character, but don’t be fooled by how calm he looks.
“He can have fun as well, but make no mistake, he’d be going in there now with full focus.
“I was really impressed with him (Holland) tactically at England. He did all the training, Southgate was more the manager and he took all the sessions.
“I think what Michael and Steve will bring is an organisation to United and I’m sure we’ll see on Saturday they’ll be harder to beat.”
