STUMBLING Rachel Reeves has today come out fighting after she was accused of conning the country to justify her massive tax raid.
The under-fire Chancellor faces growing calls to resign amid claims she made up a £30billion “black hole” – despite being told by the fiscal watchdog there was actually a £4.2billion surplus.

This sits awkwardly with the grim warnings Ms Reeves delivered just days later, when she said Britain’s finances were “weaker than we previously thought” and even hinted at income tax hikes.
And after days of mounting pressure, when quizzed on whether she had misled the public this morning, the Chancellor repeatedly tried to swerve the question before finally saying: “Of course I didn’t.”
With those remarks now sitting at the centre of a growing storm engulfing both No10 and No11, do you think Ms Reeves lied to the public about the so-called “black hole”?
Have your say in our exclusive poll.
