Declan Rice dominant again vs Burnley but Eberechi Eze is anonymous

ARSENAL continued their dominance in both attack and defence with an impressive win against Burnley.

Goals from the ever-improving Viktor Gyokeres and Declan Rice sealed the victory.

Rice celebrated his goal with a unique gesture, taking a knee and pointing to the skies.

Mikel Arteta was forced into a halftime change, with Mikel Merino replacing Gyokeres after the striker took an elbow to the face.

Here’s how SunSport rated the Arsenal display:

DAVID RAYA – 6
If he continues like this, it will be hard for anyone to beat him to the Golden Glove, but part of that is down to the fact that his defence is so good he barely has anything to do.

But a mark of good goalkeeper is how he showed up with a world class save in the end to keep his clean sheet.

RICCARDO CALAFIORI – 7
Another game where the Italian looked rock solid. He doesn’t run around like he did when he first arrived and now just keeps things simple, something Arsenal are really benefitting from.

WILLIAM SALIBA – 6
One of those games where he was barely tested, but he did his work well on what was a comfortable afternoon.

GABRIEL – 7
An absolute weapon when it comes to set pieces, both in defence and attack. Was involved in the Gyokeres goal, and his presence alone causes chaos in opposition defences.

JURRIEN TIMBER – 7
So dependable, so reliable, so solid. Some say he’s the best right-back in the league — and with performances like this, it’s hard to argue.

MARTIN ZUBIMENDI – 5
The thing with the Spaniard is that he hardly gets noticed, and it’s hard to tell if that’s a good or a bad thing. He didn’t do anything wrong, but he wasn’t particularly outstanding either.

DECLAN RICE – 9
A brilliant header to put the game to bed in the 35th minute, followed by an interesting celebration, bending his knee and pointing to the sky. He was everywhere in the second half in what was an all round impressive showing.

EBERECHI EZE – 5
This was game he should have kicked on after getting his first goal against Crystal Palace but he was quiet and replaced with 20 minutes to go.

LEANDRO TROSSARD – 6
For a man many said would leave in the summer, he’s been very important to this Arsenal team. Very unfortunate to see his effort cleared off the line in the first half.

If there’s one thing to credit him for, it’s his work rate, something that will surely delight the manager.

BUKAYO SAKA – 6

Missed a gilt-edged one-on-one that you’d expect a player of his calibre to finish in the first half.

VIKTOR GYOKERES – 7
The big Swede once again showed that he can get the goals if you feed him. There are still concerns about whether he can create something on his own, but here he proved he’s a man who can definitely finish.
