David Beckham reveals his stinging response to his kids after they asked for more privileges following knighthood

SIR DAVID Beckham has revealed his stinging response to his kids after they asked him for MORE privileges following his knighthood.

The much-loved former England hero, 50, was knighted by King Charles last year, calling it his “proudest moment”.

David shares kids Brooklyn, 27. Romeo, 23, Cruz 21, and sister Harper, 14, wife Victoria, 51.

The former footballer was finally made a knight of the British empire for services to sport and charity in November.

The star was given the honour by King Charles at Windsor Castle, with his family all there to support him, apart from his estranged son Brooklyn.

But the dad-of-four has now revealed that despite his kids being brought up around extreme wealth, they wanted to know what other perks their father being a Sir could bring.

Speaking on talkSPORT Drive with Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent, David was asked about how his life had changed since he was knighted, to which he replied: “The only thing that changed was my notepaper that I send out to people, thank you letters. That’s the only thing that really changed.”

However, he then added: “My kids turn around to me and said, “Dad, do we get any privileges like, any more?” I know that’s what I said to them.

“I was like, ‘well, apart from the ones that you’ve already got, absolutely not’”.

David added: “It was one of the best… probably the best day of my life, you know, other than obviously when my kids were born and when I got married.”

During the interview, the star dad also talked about how proud he was of his youngest son’s music career.

“Cruz has been kind of, you know, working on his music since he was about eight or nine years old – and he’s all of a sudden got a band together,” he said.

“He’s released an album. It’s Cruz Beckham and the Breakers. They’re doing incredibly well. They’re traveling around the UK. They were in Bristol. They were in Brighton. They were in Birmingham. They were in Paris, Amsterdam.

“So they’re going around Europe and now they’re back in London for three shows and he’s performing tonight. I’m very proud of him because he’s worked really hard. So good stuff.”

Meanwhile, it comes amid David’s ongoing family feud with Brooklyn and his wife Nicola, 31, continues.

The Sun first revealed last year how Brooklyn had cut off his family.

In October, insiders confirmed that the eldest Beckham boy had no interest in making amends with his family.

By January, he was communicating with them through lawyers.

Days later, Brooklyn released a bombshell statement confirming the story.

He went on to make allegations against his family, including claiming fashion designer Victoria had “hijacked” his first dance with Nicola at their wedding in 2022.

As well as cutting off his famous parents, Brooklyn is no longer in contact with his brothers Romeo and Cruz and sister Harper, after blocking them on social media.
